Happy Hump Day! Today I’m linking up with Katie from Moms Little Running Buddy and a whole bunch of other bloggers for A Day in the Life linkup. This is one of my favorite linkups. I enjoy getting a glimpse into other people’s lives (no, I’m not a voyeur…) and how they juggle fitness, family, and free time. Plus it’s kind of fun to rehash my own daily chaos. 🙂
Lately our days have looked something like this:
6:00 am — wake-up, get ready for my run in the bathroom and brush my teeth in the dark.
6:20 am — out the door for my miles! Shhhh… it’s so peaceful and quiet. Relish in the beauty of a still morning, people. Shit’s about to get crazy!!
7:20 am — back home. Rush around and get my booty upstairs to the bathroom to shower and get dressed before my hubs leaves for work.
8:00 am — my better half departs and it’s just me and the kids.
AHHHHH!!!!
Haha, just kidding. It’s not really like that. (all the time…)
8:40 am — head out the door to get my son to Safety Town! For those of you that don’t know what Safety Town is, it’s a “camp” that kids go to in Ohio (maybe other states, too?) the summer prior to entering kindergarten. They get to talk to police officers and firemen/women, and learn all about road safety, traffic patterns, poison control, and stranger danger. I remember doing it when I was a kid and had a great time. And now my son is getting to experience it, too!
9:00 am — Safety Town drop-off; Little Bee and I head home to play!
12:00 pm — lunch time. This is always fun. Usually the kids are satiated enough from snack not to harass me too much but when they’re not — eesh. I can’t get food on the table fast enough for these fools.
1:00 pm — Little Bee’s naptime; Boo gets to watch TV and play outside. I usually blog, write plans, or pack some boxes around this time.
3:00 pm — I usually start texting my husband asking him when he’s coming home around 3. He never comes home early. But I ask anyway. 🙂
4:00 pm — wake up Little Bee. If it’s a Thursday we have to go pick up our farm share so we shuffle out the door to do that. If it’s not a Thursday and it’s nice out, we usually have snack and play outside.
5:30 pm — time to make dinner. I’m so exhausted by this time. Literally counting down the minutes until my hubby gets home.
6:00 pm — Let’s eat! Because it’s almost bedtime!!!
7:00 pm — I’m off duty. Because let’s face it, if I were still on duty, no one would get a bath and bedtime would be at 7:05. I’m usually doing dishes, then planking/doing yoga/foam rolling, finishing up my blog, writing training plans, etc. This week I’m sure instead of doing that stuff, I’ll be packing boxes…
9:00 pm — time for me to get ready for bed. I’m pooped. I might fit a show in if I’m not too, too tired. But my trash TV of choice just had a season finale so now I got nothin.
10:00 pm — lights out. Goodnight.
xo
