Please Allow Me to Introduce Myself

June 2, 2021

Hi! I’m a blogger and running coach. Please allow me to introduce myself…

Cleveland Running Coach | Blogger | Running on Happy

My name is Rachel. I’m a runner, a running coach, a fitness trainer, and a blogger.

I’m a running coach based in Cleveland, Ohio. I coach runners of all abilities, ages, and walks of life. My youngest runners are kindergarteners while my oldest runners tend to be in their 70s. In addition to private coaching, I’m also the head coach of a high school cross country team.

My certifications include USATF Level 2 Endurance, RRCA, and NASM-CPT. And just for fun, I’m a NESTA certified kettlebell coach. Love me some kettlebell workouts!

So basically, when someone asks what I do for a living, I tell them I run and work out. Which really isn’t too far from the truth at all.

Being a running coach and a fitness trainer is hard work. There are days I’m dog tired. But at the end of the day, I LOVE what I do. I’m so fortunate that I navigated my way on this meandering, and not-at-all-straight, career path. There have been some extremely rocky trails and roads along the way that have tested my resolve and dedication, and I’m certain there will be more well into the future, but being a running coach and fitness trainer is so rewarding on so many levels.

I’ve been blogging for many years, but I took almost a full year off starting last July. At the time, I didn’t plan on taking significant time off. But as the days and weeks of 2020 wore on, I realized I was fresh out of creative juice. I suppose that happens from time to time with all writers and bloggers. I had never been at a loss for words before, so it took me a bit by surprise that I had nothing to say.

Turns out I needed that break and the reset. It’s been a heavy 365+ days for all of us. Now that there may actually be a light at the end of the dark, dark tunnel, I’m feeling more optimistic and hopeful. I think we all are and it’s been nice to hear cautious sighs of relief from friends, neighbors, and family members.

In the days and weeks ahead, I will certainly recap all that’s gone on in my world. But for now, let’s start over. Please allow me to re-introduce myself — or to introduce myself to those who don’t know me yet.

Excited to be Back to Blogging!

My name is Rachel. I’ve been blogging since the beginning of time. Or so it seems. I blog mostly about running and living a healthy lifestyle.

Taking time off has allowed me to regroup and process how I wanted to use this space. I used to include recipes but frankly, there are much better recipe creators and food photographers out there so I’m going to stick to what I know — and that’s running, exercise, and living your best life! I hope you can learn and benefit from what I have to say, and if you have something to share, I would love to hear from you, too.

Pleased to meet you.

Let’s talk!

Are you a blogger? Have you taken significant time off from blogging before? What helped you get back into it?

What do you do for work?

Linking up with Deborah, Debbie, Laura, Lisa, and Jen.
