Hi! I’m a blogger and running coach. Please allow me to introduce myself…
My name is Rachel. I’m a runner, a running coach, a fitness trainer, and a blogger.
I’m a running coach based in Cleveland, Ohio. I coach runners of all abilities, ages, and walks of life. My youngest runners are kindergarteners while my oldest runners tend to be in their 70s. In addition to private coaching, I’m also the head coach of a high school cross country team.
My certifications include USATF Level 2 Endurance, RRCA, and NASM-CPT. And just for fun, I’m a NESTA certified kettlebell coach. Love me some kettlebell workouts!
So basically, when someone asks what I do for a living, I tell them I run and work out. Which really isn’t too far from the truth at all.
Cleveland Running Coach
Being a running coach and a fitness trainer is hard work. There are days I’m dog tired. But at the end of the day, I LOVE what I do. I’m so fortunate that I navigated my way on this meandering, and not-at-all-straight, career path. There have been some extremely rocky trails and roads along the way that have tested my resolve and dedication, and I’m certain there will be more well into the future, but being a running coach and fitness trainer is so rewarding on so many levels.
I’ve been blogging for many years, but I took almost a full year off starting last July. At the time, I didn’t plan on taking significant time off. But as the days and weeks of 2020 wore on, I realized I was fresh out of creative juice. I suppose that happens from time to time with all writers and bloggers. I had never been at a loss for words before, so it took me a bit by surprise that I had nothing to say.
Turns out I needed that break and the reset. It’s been a heavy 365+ days for all of us. Now that there may actually be a light at the end of the dark, dark tunnel, I’m feeling more optimistic and hopeful. I think we all are and it’s been nice to hear cautious sighs of relief from friends, neighbors, and family members.
In the days and weeks ahead, I will certainly recap all that’s gone on in my world. But for now, let’s start over. Please allow me to re-introduce myself — or to introduce myself to those who don’t know me yet.
Excited to be Back to Blogging!
My name is Rachel. I’ve been blogging since the beginning of time. Or so it seems. I blog mostly about running and living a healthy lifestyle.
Taking time off has allowed me to regroup and process how I wanted to use this space. I used to include recipes but frankly, there are much better recipe creators and food photographers out there so I’m going to stick to what I know — and that’s running, exercise, and living your best life! I hope you can learn and benefit from what I have to say, and if you have something to share, I would love to hear from you, too.
Pleased to meet you.
xo
Let’s talk!
Are you a blogger? Have you taken significant time off from blogging before? What helped you get back into it?
What do you do for work?

Hello, Rachel! Nice to make your acquaintance…I’m Kim. I’m a runner and blogger from Iowa. I’m also an art geek and a color freak, so you can usually spot me from way off in the distance. You look and sound a lot like a fun gal I ran a couple of (dumb) marathons with…
Hiiii!!!!!!! I’m so glad to see you again. 🙂
Welcome back!
Thanks!
Welcome back! So glad to have met you during your hiatus! Running and this community is the only thing that has kept me consistently blogging, although I can’t keep up on the weekday prompts.
I work in tourism, which made this last year exceptionally crazy, but grateful to be healthy and working.
Now about this ear worm 😀
Thank you! I’m glad to be back and I’m going to aim to be consistent from here on out. Why did I never know you worked in tourism?! After all this time chatting!
Sorry about the ear worm. It’s been in my head all day, too. 😉
Welcome back Rachel! 🙂
Thank you!!!
Hi Rachel, I’m Denise @runheartfit and follow you on IG and share many of your stories. I’ve been blogging on and off for a few years and am grateful for finding this community of bloggers. Welcome back!
I love this re-intro! This really is a great community. Thank you!
Welcome back!! I took time off when my son was born because it was too hard to find time to write. It can be tough to consistently come up with new things to write about! But somehow I’ve been blogging for almost 8 years…
Thank you! It really can be hard to come up with new things. I was fresh out of ideas for a while. But also, 2020 so… 🙂 I’m just glad to be out of the funk!
Hi. I’m Darlene.
Welcome back. I’ve missed reading your posts.
I keep blogging because I love the community of running bloggers.
I was a French teach at one time but now I teach child welfare workers how to use a computer database.
Ok I had no idea you were a French teacher or a computer teacher. Thanks for sharing that! Maybe we need to have more of these posts. 🙂
Now Sympathy for the Devil is going through my head…thank you for that, lol!
Glad to see you back to blogging. I have to admit to having thoughts about quitting my blog, but I just love the run blog community. And as long as publishers keep sending me books, I’ll keep posting reviews. I guess I better start working on that pile on my nightstand!
It was a nice break, that’s for sure. But I’m really glad to be back at it. You’re welcome for the tune 😉
nice to see you back at blogging! Fun to read what you are up to
Thank you! Glad to be back
It’s so good to see your post. I’m so thrilled about your successes with high school coaching. Your student athletes are so lucky to have you.
Thank you so much! You’re so kind. <3
Yay! Glad you got the comment section fixed so quickly, Rachel.
Great to see you back!
Thank you!!
Welcome back, Rachel! Excited to see what you have in store for us. I don’t know how you do it all!
Haha, thank you! I don’t know either. I guess I can’t which is why I needed the break. 🙂
Welcome back! It’s so good to have you back!
Thank you!
Welcome back! As a fellow coach and personal trainer I truly understand how exhausting and exhilarating our chosen career can be. And how it’s possible to burn out on blogging even though you enjoy it. I’ve had a struggle over the last year coming up with new ideas (thank goodness for my reservoir of old posts!
If I’m being honest, I feel like all the images, tags, shares, etc., were what started burning me out. I actually enjoyed the writing part. 🙂 But the break helped so I’m ready to start again!
So glad to have you back!! I’m glad you’re doing well! I can admit that I have struggled with tapping into my creativity with my blogging, but I’m still here!
The struggle is real, right?? Especially when the weight of the world seems so heavy. But I’m glad I took the break and feel rejuvenated.
Welcome back! I was excited to see you in the link up this week!
Thank you! I’m glad to be back.
Hey Rachel, welcome back. Glad to see you blogging again (and that you’re well).
Love your running pants by the way – where did you get them, if I may ask?
