Product Review: Legend Compression Wear

March 23, 2016

I get asked about compression-wear quite a bit. Clients, friends, even strangers, ask me about the brands and fit that I like best and what to use them for.

First, let me start by saying there are a lot of great brands of compression-wear out there. I wear several different brands, actually, but all for different purposes. One brand I may like for recovery. Another brand I may prefer for running on fatigued legs. And yet another I may just wear for the fun of it — say, for theme races and fun runs. So to pick and choose exactly which brand is my favorite is nearly impossible to do.

Second, I wear compression sleeves and socks for different purposes, as I mentioned above. There is no scientific evidence that compression helps speed recovery, so I don’t wear them for that, but after a long run sometimes my legs are tired and could use an extra little squeeze. Another reason I wear lighter compression is for weather. Sometimes it’s just not warm enough for shorts but too warm for tights. And then there are the days when my one, lonely pair of capris are in the wash. Enter, compression sleeves.

Legend Compression Wear Review | Running on Happy

This post is sponsored by Legend Compression Wear. All opinions and reviews are my own.

One brand I’ve been loving lately is Legend Compression Wear. For purposes of this post, I’ll be reviewing the calf sleeves. But know Legend Compression Wear offers everything from dress socks (available in both men’s and women’s collections) to thigh highs to sheer pantyhose. This eliminates the need to sport sports compression socks under suit pants for working individuals (I’m looking at some of you, fellow bloggers! You know who you are!).

There’s a plethora of different colors to choose from for the calf sleeves and sports socks. I normally keep it fairly simple — blues, greens, and blacks are my go-to colors — but I chose yellow to try out for this review. The yellow is super vibrant, and I really like it. I’m glad I chose such a bright color because it really stands out which not only helps for higher visibility on busy streets but also brightens up an overcast day.

These calf sleeves I’ll wear to keep my legs warm on days that it’s too hot for tights and too cold for shorts. The compression isn’t super tight which makes it very comfortable to slip on for a run. It keeps me warm but allows my legs to breathe, and I never feel constricted or off-balance (which I’ve felt running in other brands before). I can also wear these on the treadmill which sometimes I can’t do with other brands due to the thickness of the material (makes me too hot).

I also much prefer running in sleeves as opposed to a full sock.

Overall I really enjoy Legend Compression Wear calf sleeves. Bottom line — would I recommend them to my clients and friends? Absolutely. They’re budget-friendly ($44.95 plus a discount — see below!), they’re of high-quality construction, there’s a lot of color options, and they’re really comfortable to run in.

Great news — you can purchase anything from Legend Compression Wear and receive 15% off your order by using code AmbFriend2016. This code won’t expire until the end of 2016, so shop any time for a great deal on compression wear!

Enjoy and have a great day, friends.
