Massages and Ice Cream

May 29, 2015
OMG you guys. After what seemed like the longest week in the world, it’s finally FRIDAY! I have so much to tell you! For a while there I felt like I was running on sad instead of running on happy, but I’m back! And it all started on Wednesday evening…
Julie and I have been long planning for a restorative massage, the ones with those lovely soothing massage oils! We’ve actually talked about doing some sort of spa treatment for over a year, when we first ran the Cleveland Half together in 2014. Julie has been running the CLE half for years, but this was my first go of it. We’d even considered going to spas in austin tx when she was down there for a time. Anyway — we started talking about getting spa pedicures and then we talked about it again after Iron Horse. We never did anything spa related, so when the Cleveland Full came around, we decided we were going big or going home.

We booked ourselves an hour long massage and treated ourselves to ice cream after. Because who doesn’t love ice cream?

It was super amazing. Apparently I had some very tight spots in my shoulders, which was kind of gross, but after he finished kneading it out it felt great. It was really nice to catch up with Julie. We’ve gone the longest we haven’t seen each other in over 5 months! Granted it was only a week and a half, but it seemed like foreverrrrrr.

On Thursday I went to the chiro and received some fabulous news. I do not have a tear! And I made sure to confirm with him about ten million times. I was so worried about it because I did have a setback on Wednesday afternoon where my knee locked up for a second. I thought I was in for the worst on Thursday morning. But thankfully I wasn’t. Phew!

I’ve been spending way too much time here lately.
Little Bee accompanied me to the doc. She was so well behaved. We read a couple stories while we were waiting, and then when we went back to the room she just stood by the table and hung out with me. She did bottom lip the men, though, which was pretty funny. Apparently she’s quite the daddy’s girl!

After my appointment I had a particularly great day. Like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I was in a much better mood than I had been all week, plus later in the evening I went to a much needed mom’s night. It was one of our more fun mom’s nights, that’s for sure. Good times, yummy food, lots of laughs. Perfect!
I’m looking forward to this weekend. For the first time since January I have no plans. Ahhhh… 🙂
Have a GREAT weekend, friends!

xo

What are you up to this weekend? Anything fun planned? Who’s racing??
