I ran this morning :)

October 8, 2014
I’m working on a fun review for you for next week. Stay tuned for it. 🙂
In the meantime, guess what? I ran this morning! After a week off from my exciting leg mishap coupled with my kids having HFMD, I’ve been pining for a run. The best news of the day, however, is that it appears both of my kids are feeling much, much better…
WWF, anyone?
Instead of people crying/complaining about being sick, they are now crying/complaining about Little Bee destroying a car Boo built, or Boo taking away said car. The fun never ends, people!
Back to my run… 🙂
I woke up bright and early at 5:30 am to take my mama to the airport. Figured I would fit in a nice run on the treadmill when I got back. As I was coming down the stairs to get her things ready for the car, the power went out. Seriously?! Luckily one of Boo’s birthday gifts was a lantern. It definitely came in handy. But aside from that, in the back of my mind I was a bit worried the power wouldn’t be back on by the time I got back home.
Thankfully after I dropped my mom off at the departure doors I got a text from my hubs that said, “power’s back.” Phew.
When I got home the sun was just starting to rise and I briefly toyed with the idea of running outside to catch a glimpse of the lunar eclipse, but I thought better of it and decided to run indoors. It was still pretty dark out, plus if for some reason something was wrong with my leg all I would have to do is stop the treadmill. Seemed like the safer route in both cases.
I did a nice 4-mile progressive on the treadmill. I felt so fantastic. I felt like I could have kept going for miles and miles, but I ran out of time so I had to call it quits.
Four seems to be the number of the day because there are only four days until my half marathon. I’m really looking forward to it. I’m not sure which part I’m looking forward to most: a break from the kids, the run, the course, or hanging with friends.
I’ve never tapered before but after this week now I know why everyone goes so bananas while tapering. It’s like you don’t even know what to do with yourself because you have so much pent-up energy.
I better go. I’ve got little people destroying my house. Have a great day, y’all!
xo
