It’s Gonna Be A Good Day

September 19, 2014
We interrupt this broadcast… Today is technically supposed to be my Fitness Friday series, but I had such an incredible day yesterday that I need to share it with you. Regularly scheduled programming will resume next week. 🙂
Yesterday was an insanely crazy and awesome day. My best friend that I’ve known since kindergarten is in town visiting, and I got to spend the entire day with her. It’s always so awesome being with her. She’s one of those people that makes you feel extra special and the only person in the room. I’m so thankful I got to see her for a full 12 hours this trip! This never happens!
The day started bright and early with a 3-mile run. I somehow convinced my husband and her to join me, though neither of them are runners. It was fantastic. The weather was perfect, we were all in great moods, and somehow no one passed out. 🙂 A win in my book! And mad kudos to both of them for running 3-miles without being runners. How incredible is that? Here are some seriously amazing post-run pics. Check out Mary’s Brony shirt. Rad.
This happened. Who’s watching the baby?!
The crew in all our sweaty glory.
After our run, we came home, made zucchini bread, and then hustled to eat lunch, pick up Boo, and head out to go… apple picking! It was an excellent day. Oh, there was also a tractor involved. Any time there’s a tractor, you know it’s gonna be a good day. Just ask Boo.
Did somebody say, “tractor?!”
Sadly, the evening ended with two somewhat negatives. One, I attempted a new recipe for polenta. I don’t even know what polenta is. It was… interesting… if you want to put it that way? Dinner was a little stressful. The kids ate chicken nuggets and peas. The sauce was good. Maybe that counts for something.
The other thing that didn’t happen was a mom’s night I was supposed to attend. I was so flippin’ tired from this past week, that I think I would have been worthless had I gone. I’m sad to have missed it because I love my mama friends, but I had a pretty stellar day and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Have a happy day!
