So… how’s it goin’… ? Anything new since yesterday that you want to share? No? Me neither.
It has finally been more summer-like here for the last two days, which is all about to change yet again. I’m so tired of cold weather. I know it’s not even cold, but I’m a hot, summer kind of girl. I need heat, humidity, and sweat. I love wrapping up in hoodies and blankets, too, don’t get me wrong. But I really needed a nice hot and steamy summer. Where did it go?!
Happy Friday, by the way! And Happy August! Though that seems less happy to me because of what I said up there / / . August means fall is coming. And falls means winter is soon to follow. But Happy Friday! Yay!
Plank Challenge
All right, so truthfully, Happy August. And here’s why. I’m taking on my first fitness challenge, and I’m rallying you to do it with me. We are going to do a 30-day Plank Challenge. And the only reason it isn’t technically 31 days is because I’m starting tomorrow because today is my day of rest. 🙂 So! Here’s the challenge calendar (click to enlarge):
And here’s how to do a plank the right away:

You’ll see on the calendar the rest days are on Fridays. Feel free to change it around if you need to. I just made them Fridays because that’s my rest day from training, so it works in my favor. Ready to accept the challenge? Me too! Let’s start tomorrow. 🙂
Running-Life Balance
No Friday would be complete without a running-life balance post. This week’s lovely post is from Amy. Amy is a stay-at-home mom to a very adventurous 3 year old. There is never a dull moment in her house. She’s also a runner who absolutely loves ice cream. You can check out her blog at Will Run For Ice Cream. 🙂

What are you training for (if
anything)?
anything)?
I’m training for my 3rd Marathon this
October.
October.
How do you balance your training with
family time? With work?
family time? With work?
Sometimes balancing training with
family time is the biggest challenge of training. This especially becomes
a problem when my Husband is traveling for work. Usually I get up
early before my family wakes up and get in my training runs. And yes,
sometimes this means getting up at 4:00am.

Who is your biggest supporter?
I think my biggest supporter would be
my 3 year old. He asks me every day if I’m “Going
running?”. But my husband is also a great supporter. He realizes how important training is
to me. Also, I’m part of a great local running group, and we all
encourage each other.

Are you going to accept my Plank Challenge?
I’ve been dutifully doing 20 crunches every morning for the last week and I must say I’m really enjoying them. Are you a cruncher?
