Boom! Two of my friends and I just registered for the Iron Horse Half Marathon. I’m puuuuuumped. And now I come to find out it has just officially sold out! Boo-yah! I’m excited for this half because it looks so beautiful and picturesque. Plus it will be my first “trip” sans children. I’m a little nervous for it because it’s in the heart of horse country, which is basically nothing but rolling hills. Should be a piece of cake. 😉 I have zero plans for any sort of a PR for this race. I am going into it with an open mind, and just going to have a great time. I’m really looking forward to it!
On this morning’s run, I ran without earbuds. It was a little strange, to be honest. I was trying to be safer and more aware of my surroundings. Running sans music made me extremely hyper-vigilant. I’m already pretty paranoid and run with caution on my solo runs. I also had a bad dream last night about being chase by a brown bear on my morning run. Don’t ask. Maybe because I’m always encountering wildlife? As evidenced by this:
It was a strange morning, to say the least. I have a 5K race this weekend that I’m pretty excited about. I’ve never done it before but I’ve heard that it’s very small. I prefer the small races. They are much less intimidating.
I also have some fun news! I am thrilled to be an ambassador for the inaugural GridIron 5K race in picturesque Chagrin Falls, Ohio. This race is sure to be fantastic. There are a ton of great sponsors, it kicks off football season (ahem, husband…), and it’s being held in a beautiful township in Northeast Ohio. $1 of every entry will go to Team RWB — you can read more about that here.
I strongly encourage you to sign up. Instead of race t-shirts, they will be featuring race hoodies! W00t! Plus, if you sign up now, you get $5 off registration! Use code SAVE5RACHEL at checkout for $5 off the adult 5K race. Once 10 of you have signed up using this code, I will receive a free race entry to raffle off to one of my readers. May the best man/woman win! Click here to register now!
I know I just sounded like a commercial, but I really think this is going to be a fun race. Plus the free stuff and the hoodie. What’s not to love?
Hope y’all have a great rest of your day!
P.S. I have a great review coming up for you. Be sure to stop by tomorrow. 🙂
