Running-Life Balance: Esther

June 27, 2014
Whoop, whoop! It’s Friday, friends! And you know what that means, don’tcha? We get to hear about how another friend balances life and training, and makes it to the other side intact. Today it’s Esther’s turn. Check out her story below!
 —
 Hi, I am Esther. I’m a runner who loves to lift weights and take on challenges that take me outside my comfort zone! I love taking body pump classes, running races, playing volleyball, trying new healthy recipes, and enjoying chocolate! I also enjoy reading, watching movies with my husband and traveling.
I blog over at {chocolaterunnergirl.wordpress.com}

What are you training for (if anything)?

This year my goal is to complete 33 races for my 33rd birthday! So far I have 14 finished. So I am basically always in training mode. Over the next few months I will be running 2-3 5ks each month and working on training for 2 bigger races in October. I will be running a 10 mile race and then participating in my second duathlon! I am really pumped for my fall schedule!

How do you balance your training with family time? With work?
I have a great job where I can actually workout while I am at work! So that helps a lot since I work a
lot of hours. I will often plan my training time around when my husband is working so that when we are both off we can spend time together!

Who is your biggest supporter?
I am very fortunate in that I have some really amazing friends and family who have been so supportive
of my lifestyle. My biggest support is my husband! He comes to as many of my races as he can. He is
my biggest cheerleader, my paparazzi and my bag holder! He really is the best!

—

Thanks, Esther! And good luck on all of your races. Sounds like you will be super busy — in a great way. 🙂

Have a great weekend, friends.

How do you balance your life with training for a race, or training to stay fit in general?
Who is your biggest supporter?
