Let's count the trucks (and other road trip fun!)

March 19, 2014

It’s official, kids. I am en route with the whole fam damily heading toward race destination. And so far we’ve discussed trucks, counting trucks, how and why the wheels peel off of trucks, what kind of accessories you can get on trucks like 4WDs (Click here for more), and of course we’ve played Simon says, and I Spy. We’ve only been in the car for an hour.

I know it’s Wednesday and I usually have a product review for you, but given that I’m dealing with a slumbering 9 month old and a rowdy 4.5 year old, product reviews will have to wait until next week. I do apologize for the delay but I would rather give you a fair review and dedicate some time to it rather than blog willy-nilly.

I ran four miles this morning. Yesterday I took a day off from running and did yoga instead. Taking yesterday off will mess with my weekly mileage but it felt great to stretch out the tightness in my calves and work on my core. I’ve got three miles planned for tomorrow, and one or two on Friday. And then Saturday is race day!
My legs are a little stiff and I’m sure I will be feeling it more later, after our five hour drive. I considered wearing my compression socks for the drive but I decided they will probably do more good tomorrow. Plus I don’t want to have to do laundry at my in-laws’.

Yay, road trip!

So what else is going on besides running? We will be visiting with grandparents, which will be super fun, and hopefully we will enjoy some milder weather than what we’ve had in Cleveland as of late (or basically all winter — potato, potahto). It should be a fun trip! And hey, it just stopped raining! W00t!
Tonight will be interesting with Little Bee and her sleeping situation. Boo was always a total mess when we traveled. The first night was almost always a complete disaster. Fingers crossed things will go more smoothly with girly girl.
Well that’s all from here. I’ll have a somewhat more cohesive post for tomorrow. 🙂 Happy Hump Day!!

Are you a road warrior?
What is your favorite road trip destination?
And more importantly, what is your favorite road trip food?
(Mine used to be Mt Dew and beef jerky but now those wreck my stomach. Boo!)
