I just realized that I’m on speaking terms with only half of my wedding party.
Friendship is a funny thing. It ebbs and flows with the ever-changing tides of life. When you’re young, you pick which friend is your best friend this week and when you’re older, you have to try to find friends who have similar interests.
Strong, solid friendships can withstand the test of both time and distance. These are the people I will be friends with forever. The ones I can call and talk to once every six (or more) months and nothing has changed or gone sour between us. I am thankful for those people in my life.
It’s ironic, and both upsetting and uplifting, how life-changing events uncover the truth of relationships among people.
