Welcome to the week, friends! Let’s kick things off right with a super healthy, nutrient-dense, flavor-packed, colorful smoothie, shall we?
My three favorite ingredients of a smoothie are blueberries, bananas, and Greek yogurt. While I normally use a banana as a base, I know there are some allergies and aversions to bananas. This version of one of my all-time favorite combinations uses an avocado as the base instead. The result is a nice, smooth consistency. Plus, since avocados provide fiber, potassium, vitamin E, B-vitamins, and folic acid (not to mention the vitamin C and iron!), this smoothie is essentially a drinkable, nutritional powerhouse.
Blueberry Avocado Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1/4 C frozen blueberries
- 1/2 avocado, peeled and pitted
- 1 clementines, peeled and segmented
- 1/4 C vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1/2 C water
- handful of ice cubes
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a high-powered blender. Serve and enjoy!
My Blueberry Avocado Smoothie is the perfect ending to a tough workout. It’s also equally delicious on a hot summer day on the patio. Plus, it’s perfect for those of you that don’t love bananas.
