This is probably the first time in my life I’m not happy it’s Friday. After an incredible week of vacation on the Cape, it’s time for us to say goodbye — and we’re all very sad to go. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to vacation here. It’s been memorable and fun, and we’ve had a grand time exploring and adventuring. Going on a family vacation is a brilliant time to relax and take time away from the real world. Although the kids can sometimes disrupt the relaxation, we always have a good time! if you want to take a vacation but you don’t have enough time, then you might want to check out this website (www.vps-guardians.co.uk) as this website offers short term lets for people. This is a good idea to get yourself away and have some peace and quiet. This is why I love going on vacation. We’ve also had fabulous family bonding time, which is a rarity at home. I want to bottle some of this special time up and bring it home with us — along with seashells, sand, and ocean breezes.
It’s tough to choose my five favorite vacation moments but a few that stand out are:
Five Favorite Vacation Moments
1. My son learning to swim.
Once upon a time, my son was a wonderful swimmer. But then we stopped going to lessons and stopped practicing. Fast forward a few years and he completely forgot everything. When we arrived on the Cape, he decided he would learn to swim. Throughout this week he’s been on the verge of swimming but fear always held him back just enough. On Thursday something clicked for him. And he swam. I’ve never seen a little boy more excited than he was when he realized he could do it. We had plans to go to the beach in the afternoon but once he learned to swim, all plans went out the window. We took him out to a celebratory lunch on the water, and then came back to swim some more.
2. Beach time.
Although we would have liked to have gone to the beach a few more times than the weather allowed, we had some serious fun the times we did go. On our first beach day we went to Chapin Memorial Beach, and the second beach day we went to Corporation Beach. Both are in Dennis, MA. They are both incredibly beautiful beaches but with striking differences. Chapin Beach is almost entirely comprised of tidal pools during low tide. From the main beach area out to the ocean has got to be somewhere in the half to three-quarters of a mile range. It was beautiful, though, and lots of hermit crabs for my son to play with and warm, shallow water for my daughter to wade in. Corporation Beach was beautiful as well, and much closer to the ocean. It was much more crowded, though. The beaches were great but there is so many I would love to visit around the world. Lately, I’ve been considering looking at different Cruise deals to see if I can find one that would let me see some of the most beautiful beaches all in one trip. If you are thinking of going on holiday to somewhere then there are loads of places that you could check out. For example, maybe you are thinking of going to somewhere in Europe for a holiday, well if this is the case then you could easily go and take a ferry there from a company like ferryu. However, there are plenty of things that you could look to doing, you just have to find something that works best for you.
3. Sunsets with the love of my life.
We only witnessed two gorgeous sunsets because the other evenings it was too cloudy, but the ones we got to see were amazing. As I mentioned yesterday, I’m sad vacation is over because I love hanging out with my husband, especially when we get to relax and be adults without the little people.
4. Telling Secrets.
On our first night at the Cape, we stayed with my sister-in-law and her parents and my nephews. In the morning we toured around their little neighborhood and my daughter stopped her older cousin to tell him a secret. I have no idea what the secret was but it was so cute I can’t help but smile every time I see the photo. So glad I caught the moment!
5. Running with my family.
My son and I went running together three times on vacation. It was amazing. I love running with him. And then my daughter wanted to join in one morning, and we somehow conned my husband into coming along as well. It was frustrating at first — all running together at different speeds and ages — but it was so fun at the end. I’m so happy they love running with me.
I’m so happy we had the opportunity to vacation here. It’s been truly amazing. We’ve made some fantastic memories that I hope we all remember when we get home and back to the daily grind. I’ll always cherish these vacation moments!
