This has been a crazy week, folks. And since today is Thursday and time for Thinking Out Loud, let’s just get right into it.
Birthdays, Departures, Friendships
My daughter turned three this week. (Seriously? Where the heck has the time gone?) She got everything princess and purple for her birthday. And she even shared with me, which was super awesome. She received so many presents from friends and family, so we’re really grateful for all the gifts that were given to her. One of her favorites is the custom printed jigsaw puzzle that she got from one of our family members. The puzzle is personalized with a lovely picture, and she loved trying to figure out the jigsaw puzzle the other day. She had a lovely day for her birthday, and she’s enjoying playing with all of the toys now!
I spent most of Tuesday afternoon rearranging and purging toys. Turns out my kids really enjoy the new setup because they played together so nicely almost all of Wednesday morning.
As I mentioned on Tuesday, Noemi’s last week in the Cleve is this week. As such, David, Sara, Julie, Noemi and I met for ice cream and said our official goodbyes on Wednesday evening. As a surprise, the four of us got her a fantastic going away gift. It was fun (and sweat-worthy) gathering all the items for the gift bag. I think she really liked everything.
The friendships that have formed with this crew are nothing short of phenomenal. I don’t usually say the word “blessed” because frankly that’s not my style. But I truly feel blessed to know these wonderful people and I feel my life is richer for it.
Hopefully we’ll all gather together for one final run on Friday but that’s yet to be seen.
I’m lucky in that I get to see Noemi again for a few days in a month when we drive to her new city. But it’s still a goodbye and let’s face it, goodbyes suck.
And because I’m feeling sentimental and I’m going to miss the heck out of my friend, Noemi, I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes:
“You and I will meet again
When we’re least expecting it
One day in some far off place
I will recognize your face
I won’t say goodbye my friend
For you and I will meet again”

No questions today. Just be. 🙂
