Hello, hello!
As I prepare to run the Cleveland leg of the Timex ONE Relay, I must say, I’m both excited and nervous. It will be my first run since my half and I finally feel recovered, so the timing couldn’t be better. I can’t wait to report back! You can follow my progress and send words of encouragement here.
But before I go for a run, I have an amazing review for you today. I was provided Hemp Hearts by Manitoba Harvest to try out, and my gosh are they amazing. I admit, when I first opened the bag, I was kind of baffled. They were so small. How the heck was I going to incorporate these into my diet for review? I was expecting something like sunflower seed sized.
Essentially, they are quinoa sized-ish. But they pack a nutritional punch. They are loaded with protein and Omega 3s. Plus, hemp is among the world’s most sustainable and eco-friendly plants.
Upon first opening the bag, I took a scoopful out to taste it. To be honest, the hemp seeds don’t taste like a whole lot, which makes them perfect for adding to any dish conceivable. I love the texture. They’re soft but not so soft that they’re mushy. In the words of my husband, “like nothing I’ve ever had before.”
Unfortunately I don’t own a Vitamix or a blender *gasp* so I’m not one of those people who tosses them into drinks or smoothies. But I do eat a lot of “hummus sandwiches” (our more fun title for a traditional “veggie” sandwich) and salads. Hemp Hearts are the perfect addition to any salad or sandwich as evidenced by my documentation below:

I’m a huge fan of the Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts. I highly recommend them. I think what takes it up a notch higher for me is that Manitoba Harvest not only specializes in only hemp, making them experts in their field, but they grow, harvest, and sell their own hemp. No middle man, no questionable fields or growing practices.
Bottom line — would I recommend Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts to friends and family? Yes — a no- brainer! And guess what? I will right now with a GIVEAWAY!
