Fitness Friday: Jamaica K.

December 12, 2014
Cheers to Friday! It’s time for another edition of Fitness Friday! I love this day. It’s so inspiring and fun to read how other people stay fit, how they started their journey, and how they keep it up every day.
Today we hear from Jamaica. She loves squats. I don’t know anybody who loves squats. Which is one of the things that make this girl great!
Check out Jamaica and follow her journey at rarax3.

What is your favorite fitness day/activity?

Hah. This
is an easy one. Leg day everyday – running, squats, lunges, you name it!

What is your favorite fitness routine?
Anything
SQUATS. I’m a sucker for jump squats and heavy weight squatting (my all time
single rep max was 215 lbs.).

Why do you choose to stay fit?
At first
staying fit was merely a means to lose weight. Over time, I’ve learned to love
it and it since has been more of a lifestyle rather than a means to an end.
Aside from physical exercise, what other ways
do you incorporate healthy choices into your life?
I
absolutely love food. I love all the bad foods and not so much the healthy
ones. Every day is a constant struggle and I’m at war with myself to make
healthy choices when it comes to food. Some days I’m victorious and other days
I’m not, but at least I try!
How have you dealt with any setbacks that have prevented you from working out, staying in
shape, or eating healthily?
I’m still
trying to figure this one out. The reality is that setbacks are unavoidable.
They’ll appear in any size, shape or form. I simply try to propel forward
regardless. There are times I go weeks without running, but that doesn’t mean I
should stop altogether. Instead, I find motivation or inspiration to get at it
again.
What advice do you have for someone just
beginning their journey into healthy living and/or exercising?
As Nike
says, just do it. A journey will never begin until you start. So just do it and
keep doing it.
