I’m partial to running. We all know. It’s no secret that I have zero coordination and possibly even less desire to try something new. I like running. It is what it is, right?
Well, yes and no. I’ve been thinking about, and considering, new workouts to incorporate into my routine. I’ve been asking a few of my fitter friends about what they do to get the most out of their workouts. Some told me they use propionyl-l-carnitine supplements to improve their blood flow which gives them an extra boost when exercising. I also learned from then that I have to keep diversity in my routines and maybe try some new things every now and then. Variety is one way to eliminate and/or avoid overuse injuries. I recently started on the BeFit 30-day workout program and I must say I am pleasantly surprised. The BeFit program is multi-faceted and is comprised of a calendar, workout videos, and supplements.

As soon as I received the BeFit nutrition package I was really excited to try everything out. I’ve never used any type of supplement, including whey protein (my husband uses it, I don’t) so when I was in receipt of all the product I was a little overwhelmed. I read all the labels and instructions and made a plan of action. The PRE workout supplement is an amino-acid mixture to be taken 15 minutes before a workout. BURN is to be taken with your biggest meal of the day to help burn the extra calories. And the whey protein is to be used as a recovery aid post-workout. You may even want to consider other supplements to take when it comes to your workout regimen so perhaps finding out precisely when to take creatine (and how to take it), for example, should be a priority for you if you intend to maximize your workout gains.
How did I fare with the supplements? Not so well. I had the best of intentions to use the complete program in its entirety but I failed miserably at taking the PRE and BURN supplements. I could never remember to make the PRE workout drink with enough time before my workouts (despite how delicious it is — it’s fruit punch!), and by the time I would remember to take the BURN capsules I was already halfway through my meal. I got about a solid week of supplement usage in but definitely not enough to verify any results. I did manage to remember the whey protein after almost every single workout, though. It’s pretty tasty, too! Even my husband agrees. He’s the one who uses whey protein after workouts, and he usually buys unflavored. He really likes the BeFit whey protein — he says it tastes like a vanilla milkshake. Yum! My smoothies don’t taste quite like that but I think I put more fruit in mine than he does.
The workouts in the program were fabulous. I learned so many new things and I felt very challenged. The calendar was of great use as well, because it paired the videos together perfectly. I haven’t completed the entire program at the time of this writing, but so far I’m seeing some results and more than anything, I’m having fun and finding other ways to be fit.
I think my favorite part of the BeFit program is that my husband and I can do workouts together. I’m a cardio girl. I cycle and run. He’s a fitness/weights kind of a guy. It’s rare when we workout together. The BeFit program has something for both of us, and the workouts are really fun to do together. Plus sometimes the kids join in — and that’s always a hoot.
Overall I’m really pleased with the BeFit 30-day workout program. Despite failing to use my supplements in the appropriate manner, I had a great deal of success with it so far, and I can’t wait to finish it! Once I’m done with the full 30 days I’ll definitely go back to some of these videos again because it’s been nice switching things up from solely running. Plus, my glutes have never been more sore!
Bottom line — would I recommend the BeFit 30-day workout program along with all of the components — the calendar, videos, and supplements? Absolutely. Even though I can’t exactly advocate for all of the supplement usage (by my own fault), I definitely recommend the program. My glutes and quads have been sore (in a really good way) and all the supplements taste great.
