I’ve been holding off on posting a review of INKnBURN for some time. I’ve been wearing INKnBURN apparel for several months now, but I felt like I didn’t have enough experience with the apparel to give it an adequate, fair review.
I now feel like I’ve worn it enough, and have worn enough pieces, to be able to fairly review not only the clothes but also the company overall.
I was not paid for this review nor did I receive any apparel for free for this review. I would like to mention before beginning that I am a brand ambassador for INKnBURN (INB), but all opinions are solely my own. I also do not receive any kickbacks for referring readers.
Let me start from the beginning. I don’t recall how I was first introduced to INKnBURN. I actually think I saw one of their tanks in a magazine or online somewhere. But I was instantly intrigued. The color and design was just amazing. Unlike anything I had ever seen before as far as running apparel went. I quickly went to their website and saw some amazing designs. I picked out my first shirt, Healing Mandala. Unfortunately this item is no longer in existence, but it was my very first INB purchase. This was last summer, 2014.

My second purchase was a pair of shorts. They were called Leaf ‘Em in the Dust and I really wanted them. I was a little shell-shocked with the price tag but I’m a firm believer in the old adage, “you get what you pay for.” More often than not, it’s true. If you have champagne and caviar tastes, expect to pay champagne and caviar prices. So I did. I received my second “black envelope” and was quickly disappointed. I really did not like how the shorts fit me. They were really tight compared to the shorts I was used to wearing. Without naming brands, my go-to shorts used to be very unflattering. I still wear them because they’re super comfortable and durable, but they’re really not cut for a woman’s body. The fabric of the Leaf shorts was noticeably superior to my shorts. This made an impression for sure. Unfortunately I just wasn’t in love with the fit, so I sent the shorts back. (Sidenote: I’m disappointed with myself for not having kept these shorts… oh, hindsight…)
Fast forward a month or so later, and I made my third INKnBURN purchase. This time I ordered a tie-dyed tank. I can’t recall the original name of it. It’s one of my favorites.

Soon after, I added another tank to my collection — Flutter — which I have since sold to someone else. Flutter was beautiful, but not really my style.

I also decided to give the shorts another try. This time I purchased the Healing Mandala shorts. And I LOVED them. It turns out I wasn’t ready for the INB shorts when I first got them. But the second time around I fell in love. The fabric, the color, the fit. Perfection.

I’ve also added the Run or Die Roses camisole which is one of my favorites as well.

Unfortunately the designs I’ve been talking about so far have all been retired as of late. My point in telling you all about the retired designs is not to make you wish you had them, but rather to convey to you how magical each piece is and show you the different designs and styles. INB now has new, different, fresh designs. The old ones were beautiful and I was disappointed I didn’t get my hands on some before they were discontinued, but then something amazing happened and her name was…
Atalanta. The Atalanta collection is beautiful. The story behind it is even better. And this is by far my favorite INKnBURN piece that I own to date. Atalanta is available in a variety of pieces — yoga shorts, camisole, tank — and is just beautiful. The tank and camisole have been very popular, but I’m a huge proponent of the green tech tee. I love it.

Other new additions to my personal collection and to the INKnBURN portfolio are Wildflowers and Black Lace. Black Lace is gorgeous but not necessarily for me. Wildflowers, on the other hand, are right up my alley.

Besides the obvious awesome colors and designs of the apparel, what else makes INKnBURN stand out? The fabric. It is by far the most excellent tech fabric I’ve ever had the privilege to wear. It’s soft, it’s comfortable, it’s durable, and it’s vibrant. I remember when I first opened my Healing Mandala shirt, I said to my husband how truly amazing the fabric was. And it was because of this fabric that both he and my son are proud owners of a couple INB pieces as well.
So now that you know about my INKnBURN obsession, let me tell you the Pros and Cons.
Pros:
Amazing fabrics — Their fabrics are lightweight, cool to the touch, comfortable, and durable. These fabrics have been put to the test — 100 miles to be exact.
Design / Creation — The designs are true works of art. I wish I were half as talented as the graphic designers they have working there. And what’s more is that each panel of fabric is printed in-house, then carefully sewn together. There is no outsourcing. All American-made. All by truly talented, artistic, athletic people.
Exceptional customer service — INB is a very small company. Only a handful of people. They value their customers, which is huge in this day and age.
Cons:
Expensive — INB is pricey. But you get what you pay for. And believe me, it’s worth it.
Limited designs — Back in the day, INB had a plethora of designs to choose from. With their new business model, once the design is gone, it’s gone! Makes for stressful shopping but sometimes you just can’t miss what’s being offered.
It’s addicting! — And this is only a con because it’s true! INB apparel is addicting. I’ve witnessed it firsthand and I’m witnessing it now with myself. Every time a new item is released, I want it! And every time I see a photo of an old design, I want that one, too.
So bottom line — would I recommend INKnBURN to a friend or family? (Chuckling to self as I type this…) YES!!!!!!! I have already recommended it to basically anyone and everyone who’ll listen. There are some pieces of running gear that you can get by with the cheap version, but sometimes you just gotta splurge. And trust me, this is one of those times.
Make sure you check out all the awesome designs on the INKnBURN website. And as a special Tax Day sale, they’re having a 15% off sale TODAY! Sale prices will be reflected in your cart at checkout. Tell them I sent you!
Have a colorful day!

Tell me… have you worn INB before? What’s your favorite item of workout apparel (can be non-INB)?
