Sometimes in the cooler months it becomes very drab and dreary here in northeast Ohio. At times it can seem overbearing, to be honest. I do everything I can to keep an upbeat outlook and move forward in a positive manner. Know what helps? Good, sweet food.
This post is sponsored by Nektar Naturals. As always, all opinions are my own.
I’ve recently had the opportunity to try a new product from Nektar Naturals called Nektar Honey Crystals. Nektar Honey Crystals are all-natural, granulated honey. The crystals kind of look like fine-grain raw sugar. You know the kind in those brown packets at restaurants? Those, but smaller.
I eagerly opened the bottle and when I licked my finger and tasted a dab — Oh My Yum! At first I wasn’t sure what I was going to use them for. I couldn’t decide if I should try to bake something new or incorporate it into an existing recipe. And then I wanted to make a smoothie but didn’t have a blender. After a few minutes of thinking, I had just the thing. My son would be arriving home from school any minute and I wanted to share the goodness with him, so I opted for the easiest application ever — toast!
Normally I sprinkle a light dusting of cinnamon-sugar on top of toast as a treat, so this would be a twist. It was exceptional. Not too sweet with just the right amount of texture. And my son loved it. Score one for mom!
So that’s “recipe” #1. Recipe #2 is indeed a smoothie. Luckily about a week ago I stumbled upon a great sale and finally purchased a grown-up blender — one suitable enough to make smoothies. I immediately tried it out with a new recipe I created using Nektar Naturals Nektar Honey Crystals. It’s sweet but not too sweet, and uses just the right amount of “ingredients” to make it healthful, filling, and tasty. Check it out at the end of this post.
What do I love about Nektar Honey Crystals? They are extremely easy to use. I also love that they’re non-GMO. I’m a big fan of honey but there’s something about the convenience factor of having honey crystals instead of liquid honey. There’s no mess, hands don’t get sticky (a huge plus for moms with little ones), and it tastes great. The crystals are versatile, too. You can sprinkle them on just about anything, or you can substitute (or add) them in your baked goods. One thing to note is that Nektar Honey Crystals does contain cane sugar as well.
Bottom line — would I recommend Nektar Honey Crystals to friends, family, and strangers alike? Indeed, I would. They’re great! Nektar Naturals products are available for purchase in Walmart locations across the U.S. Click here to find out where to buy!
