I have three important things to discuss with you today. I realize these topics aren’t all entirely related but since it’s the Running Coaches’ Corner where we talk all things running and they’re all about running, I thought what better way than to present these topics than together.
Real Runners Summit, Utah Valley Marathon + Feetures!
First, let’s start with the Real Runners Virtual Summit.
Remember when I first posted about the Real Runners Virtual Summit? Well, the first day of the summit is just FIVE DAYS AWAY and I want to make sure you’re IN! There’s so much awesomeness to be had at the Real Runners Virtual Summit. What makes it awesome?
The topics.
The topics covered in the Real Runners Virtual Summit are wide-ranging and universal. There’s literally something for everyone. Topics range from nutrition for runners, what to expect at your first race, common injuries and how to prevent them, plus the benefits of using a running coach, how to become a running coach, and even how to grow your coaching business!
The speakers.
I mean, I’m one of them so that’s cool and all. But have you seen the list of other speakers? I’m in great company and honestly, I’m honored to be part of such a great crew. As part of the Real Runners Virtual Summit you’ll hear from folks like Dr. Jason Karp, Jamie King, Alyse Mason, Susie Lemmer and Lora Johnson (holla RCC hosts!), fellow CLE Ambassador Jill Grunenwald — and so many more awesome runner people! The speakers are amazing.
The ease of use.
Every day for 10 days you’ll receive links to 2-3 videos to view or download. You’ll be able to connect with each of the presenters to ask follow-up questions in a closed Facebook group. And this is all from the comfort of your own desk chair. Plus, you can come back to the downloads at a later date if you need a refresher or have a question.
Still not convinced? You can check out a sneak peek of the summit with THREE free videos. Click here to get your sneak peek.
I really think all runners will benefit from the Real Runners Virtual Summit and I look forward to seeing many of you there.
The next order of business is the Utah Valley Marathon.
Let’s talk about it! I have to admit, I’ve seen other bloggers posting about Utah and it’s given me a bit of FOMO. Unfortunately I can’t run it in 2017. It’s on my bucket list for 2018, though, so mark your calendars if you want to run with me.
Why do I want to run Utah? Here’s why:
- The Utah Valley Marathon was named a top 10 race in American by Runner’s World in 2014. I ran the Iron Horse Half Marathon on a RW recommendation and it did not disappoint.
- 2017 is the 10 year anniversary of the Utah Valley Marathon — and they’re giving participants an awesome race jacket in celebration! Race jackets always win in my opinion.
- Utah is a fast downhill course. Not only is it an incredibly beautiful course, but it’s a great course for a BQ!
I won’t be going for a BQ but I sure can appreciate a downhill, fast course. Plus — have you seen Utah? Breathtaking.
And lucky for you, I have a discount code for those of you interested in running Utah in June! Race date is June 10th. And you can use the code roh15 for 15% off your registration!
Plus I have TWO registrations up for grabs. Keep an eye out on social media for your chance to win a FREE entry!
And last but certainly not least…
I’m super pumped to share with the world that I’ve been selected as a Feetures! ambassador for 2017. I’m kind of a gear/running apparel junkie and footwear (er, socks) are no exception. I started running in some super cheap running socks from the sporting goods store and while they did the trick for a while, I learned that you get what you pay for even when it come to socks. I’ve been running exclusively in Feetures! for a few years now. They’re my go-to sock. I’m currently loving my Elite Merino+ Cushion Quarter sock for cold runs. They keep my feet happy.
Another thing I love about Feetures! is that it’s a family-owned and operated company located in North Carolina. I always support small businesses. Not because they rely on the shopping habits of customers more than that of other, larger businesses, but because a lot of hard work and dedication will have taken place to ensure that their business can get off the ground in the first place. I’ve heard about how hard it can be. One of my best friends was telling me about how she had to use somewhere like yourcompanyformations.co.uk Your Company Formations Ltd to help her register her company so that she can start building upon all the things she needs to start making a profit and so forth. They helped her massively and I love seeing her thrive in this environment, and that’s why small businesses have a very special place in my heart. Besides, when you support a small business you know you’re gonna get the best customer service out there. Amiright?
