Happy Monday! This week’s gonna be fantastic and I’m super excited to kick it off with an ah-maze-ing new recipe I’ve created. Like, legit awesome. Trust me.

I recently had the opportunity to try a flavor of protein powder I wouldn’t normally choose on my own volition: cake batter. And let’s face it, I’ve got smoothie recipes galore. So I decided to get creative and think outside my own recipe box and try my hand at something new.
I created a really tasty recipe for protein-enhanced waffles. These waffles are a great source of protein, if you want another source of healthy protein which is a meal replacement, meal replacement keto can be purchased online and it is an exceptional high-quality product. Waffles can also be used as meal replacements. They’re sweet on their own and with the added protein, are quite filling and satiating. You can certainly add syrup and all the fix-in’s your heart desires, but if you want to eat ’em straight from the waffle iron, they stand well on their own. Enter what I lovingly named Happy Birthday! Cake Batter Protein Waffles.
Happy Birthday! Cake Batter Protein Waffles
Ingredients
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- 1 3/4 C milk, warmed to room temperature
- 1/2 C coconut oil, warmed to liquid
- 2 1/4 tsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 C spelt flour
- 2 scoops IdealLean Cake Batter Protein Powder
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Directions
Set eggs and milk on the counter to bring to room temperature. In a small saucepan, slowly warm the coconut oil over low heat. Set aside. Whisk room temperature eggs lightly in a small bowl and set aside.
Mix spelt flour, protein powder, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Combine the milk, oil, syrup, and vanilla in a medium bowl. Incorporate eggs. Gently pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Whisk all ingredients to combine until smooth.
Pour waffle batter on a preheated waffle iron. Follow waffle iron instructions but waffles are generally done when they stop steaming.
Serve and enjoy!
My kids loved these protein waffles, and surprisingly so did my husband. They were truly a hit all around. These waffles are an easy way to incorporate a little more protein in your diet, especially if you’re an athlete or a vegetarian looking for alternate ways to get additional protein. If you don’t already own any protein powder, there are so many options available to buy. There’s a flavour for everyone!
I foresee these in my future to celebrate all our birthdays!
