3-Way Calling and School’s [Almost] Out For Summer

May 26, 2016

Happy Thursday! I love Thursdays because I get to think out loud. Fun times! Come along on my thought train — a lot to think about today.

3-Way Calling and School’s [Almost] Out For Summer

I’d like to start off by saying I LOVE SUMMER! It’s not even Memorial Day yet but I’m totally digging warm temps and sunshine. I wish I could bottle it up and save it for a rainy day.

I spent a collective hour on the phone with my parents the other day. Which got me thinking… Aside from like, two or three friends, I never talk on the phone with people my age. Isn’t that strange? When I was in middle school and high school all I did was talk on the phone. I would spend hours and hours on the phone talking with my friends about literally nothing.

Do you guys remember 3-way calling? Of course you do.

3-way calling and adolescence was a shit storm waiting to happen. I’m not at all prepared for my kids to go through all that nonsense in the digital age.

'I survived my first 3-way calling attack!' Who else remembers those days? #SweatPink

Maybe by then Facebook and Twitter and whatever else will have died and bullying will go back to the old fashioned kind — face to face where you can’t talk smack under the cover of anonymity on the Internet. That’s an entirely different — and much more serious — post for another day.

In other news, my puppies got baths yesterday. It was the actual puppy’s first time going to the groomer and she did great.

My older “puppy” always does well. And now they both smell so fresh, so clean (so clean, clean). And they look so pretty and cute! Oh, and they also both slept the entire day. Like babies after shots. Win!

I have less than a full week left of school until my son’s home for the summer. I’m half panicking and half rejoicing. He drives me 100% insane. But he’s so smart and so funny, and I miss spending quality time with him now that he’s a real kid in real school. I have so many adventures planned for us. Whether we do them all or not is yet to be seen, but we don’t have anything better to do, so might as well! Wish me luck. It’ll either be the best summer ever, OR I might run away.

Remember last week when I was complaining about my spotty Internet? Well the cable dude finally came over on Tuesday and as it turns out, our connection was a fraction of a fraction of what it was supposed to be. I don’t even remember the numbers but we were in the negatives, that’s how bad it was. So no wonder I couldn’t get anything done, people! He even said he was surprised we could watch TV with how bad our connection was. Gah! But I’m all fixed up now, so I feel much better. Phew.

I finally got out for a night out with some awesome mamas. We got to enjoy the weather and sit outside on the patio. It was much needed. I need to leave the house without kids more often. I don’t even like going out all that much, but just to be able to drive in my car with the windows open and music up and no one complaining about their hair or the wind or the song. Glorious! Can’t wait to do that again.

Ladies Night | Thinking Out Loud | Running on Happy

This weekend is gonna be jam packed with activity. Local festivals, so much awesome festival food. I’ll be running a few times this weekend. Should be crazy busy and really fun. Looking forward to it!

And with that, I’ll leave you. Thanks for tagging along on my thoughtful Thursday!
