Berry Banana Vanilla Protein Smoothie [Hemp Protein Smoothie Review]

March 21, 2016

Happy Monday! Hope y’all had a stellar weekend. I’m really excited about today’s post. I was given the opportunity to try out the newest, tastiest protein powder from Manitoba Harvest and I could not turn it down.

It took me a while to get on the smoothie/shake bandwagon due to lack of equipment. But now that I’m able, I’m definitely willing, and I know how easy they are to make and how good they can be for you. You might say I’m a big fan.

I received an amazing box of goodies from Manitoba Harvest. It was one of the best mail days. Included were three flavors of the Hemp Protein Smoothie (Mixed Berry, Vanilla Chai, and Chocolate), a Manitoba Harvest Blender Bottle, plus measuring spoons. (Holla!)

I’ve made several shakes and smoothies using all three flavors. My favorite is definitely mixed berry, but the vanilla is a close second. I don’t care much for chocolate but I’ve had a hard time getting on the chocolate-peanut butter combo for shakes. I know lots of people like them but chocolate and peanut butter should be eaten as candy only. There, I said it.

Anyway. One of the great things about the new Hemp Protein Smoothie powders is the added greens. It gives each serving a nice nutritional boost. Check it out:

NEW! Hemp Protein Smoothie combines a delicious and creamy blend of HempPro 70 protein powder, organic harvest greens blend and other quality ingredients! With the inclusion of organic spinach, kale and broccoli to our smoothie line you can get both your greens and protein all in one convenient product. Each 30 gram serving has 15 grams of plant-based protein.

Since greens can be a bit bitter in powdered form, I like to add just a touch of something sweet — be it yogurt, honey, or even vanilla.

My favorite Hemp Protein Smoothie recipe is the product of a fantastic sale on strawberries at Whole Foods a couple weeks ago. I stocked up. The resulting smoothie is, in my very humble opinion, quite delicious. This smoothie uses the Mixed Berry flavor. Enjoy!

I leave you with one question today —

Chocolate and peanut butter: as a smoothie or as candy only? Discuss.
