5 Things Keeping Me Up at Night [Friday Five]

March 25, 2016

It’s Friday. I’m tired. I’m gonna make this short and sweet. There are five (actually maybe a few more than five) things that have been keeping me up this week.

5 Things Keeping Me Up at Night

1. My daughter

For real? This girl does NOT sleep! When is this gonna end?! My son was sleeping through the night by 6 months and never looked back. My daughter is almost 3 and we’re lucky if she sleeps through the night once a week. I neeeeeed sleep, people. Need.

Don’t let this cuteness fool you!

2. My puppy

There should be a warning label on puppies. DO NOT ADOPT ME IF YOU LIKE SLEEP. Because puppies are quite possibly worse than newborns. At least newborns wear diapers so to avoid poop and pee on the floor. My husband sets his alarm twice in the middle of the night to take the dog out. Sure, I get the easy end of it by not having to get out of bed, but I’m still awake! Also, see point #1 above. Yeah. No one’s sleeping in our house except our son.

Or this cuteness either!!

3. Running

Running takes it out of me. Coach increased my distance and effort this week and I’m having to wake up earlier to get my workouts in. I’m grateful today is rest day!

Pitch black at the end of a 4-miler? Puh-lease!

4. Temperature

I go to sleep and my feet are freezing. I wake up and I’m in a pool of sweat. What the what?! How does one temper this problem? I clearly have no solution.

5. Choosing a Fall Race

I currently have four — yes FOUR — races that I’m debating about right now for the fall. They’re all big races — in size, price, or distance — so I can’t do all four. I’m having such a hard time with it that it’s legit stressing me out. I wish I had a Magic 8-Ball to tell me what to do.

Look, 8-Ball. I need a definitive answer here!

I’m grateful it’s Friday because hopefully we’ll get some much needed rest this weekend.

Nah… who am I kidding?! I’m a parent! Parents never rest. 🙂

Have a great weekend, y’all! See you back here on Monday! And to those who celebrate — Happy Easter!
