Life Recap! [Because there’s more to life than just running… I think?]

October 14, 2015
Well yes, of course there’s all the running. But what about life? Well, besides my big race a week and a half ago, we were recently graced by visits from not one, not two, but THREE grandparents! We have been so busy, but most definitely in a good way. Now our visitors are gone until Thanksgiving and now it’s time to just… breathe…
My husband’s parents came in to visit for a few days. They played with the kids, had a chance to relax with their son and grandchildren, and then I got to spend some quality time with them on my own as well. It was a nice, albeit short, visit and we look forward to their return.
Immediately after my in laws left, my mom came to stay with us for a week. We had a great time together. Unfortunately we were so busy that the week seemed to fly by. Among our activities:
  • My son’s birthday

  • Hiram House Pumpkin Festival

  • A school fundraiser at my son’s school
  • Apple “picking” (more like apple fritter eating, and pre-picked apple purchasing)
  • Shopping

  • Dancing

  • Dressing up

  • And lots and lots of eating…

We said goodbye to my mama earlier this week, and now my house is quiet again. It’s a sad quiet, though. I miss having lots of people around and lots of activity.
Did I mention that I set the oven on fire? Oops. Goodbye, favorite oven mitt… RIP
What are some fun ways you spend time with YOUR family? Give me two fun semi-traditions!

And since this week’s topic on Tuesdays on the Run is all about balance, this post is linked up with My No-Guilt Life, Marcia’s Healthy Slice, and MCM Mama Runs for Tuesdays on the Run!
