5 Favorite Daily Activities [Friday Five]

August 7, 2015
This week’s topic for the Friday Five linkup is A Day in the Life. Since I just posted about A Day in the Life, I’m going to spin this into my top five favorite daily activities. 🙂 It’s always fun to link up with Cynthia from You Signed Up For WHAT?!, Courtney from Eat Pray Run, DC and Mar from Mar on the Run for Friday Five.
I realize I’ve been sharing a lot of lists lately. Or at least I feel like I have. The only solution I can offer to this conundrum is that lists help me organize my thoughts. I make lists every day. Sometimes every hour. Lately my lists have be
1. Running.
Do I need to qualify this? I mean, my blog is titled Running on Happy…
2. Blogging.
Again, I feel like to qualify this will be to cheapen the sentiment.
3. Showering.
So this one probably sounds kinda weird. But I love getting all hot and sweaty from a good run and then taking a nice shower to wash away all the salt and grime. I particularly enjoy mornings when I’m not in a rush and I get to take my time. Showering, like running, is alone time when all is quiet and I’m alone with my thoughts. One of my friends has even inspired me to think about a shower upgrade ever since she got hers renovated. She’s had one of those glass showers installed and it looks so clean and modern. Perhaps I’ll have to look into those showers, I’ve heard a few people talking about them now.
4. Reading to my daughter for naptime and my son for bedtime.
Lately, my daughter is really into Llama Llama Red Pajama and The Little Engine That Could. So sweet. My son is big into Dr. Seuss. I mean, who isn’t really? My favorite one to read to him is Fox in Socks. He loves it because it’s such a tongue twister, and I love reading it for the same reason!

5. Dessert.
We don’t always have dessert. But when we do, the kids are so overjoyed it’s really probably the cutest thing in the world. If dinner is a crazy, rowdy event with yelling, complaining, and general loud kid noises, dessert is the quietest time of the day. Both kids are lovingly devouring their sweet treat, and you can literally see a sparkle in their eyes.
That’s all from here today, my little love muffins. This weekend I’m going to be packing my ass off. So much to do, such little time! I hope you have a fabulous weekend, and I’ll see you back here on Monday.
xo
What are YOUR five favorite things to do? Plans for the weekend?
