5 Fitness Trends I’ll Never Try [Friday Five Link-Up]

July 10, 2015
I love Fridays. I used to not really care much about it because as a SAHM I never get a day off so weekends don’t mean much anymore. But I’ve come to re-enjoy Friday as much as the next gal, so I celebrate. Wahoo!
This week I’m linking up with Cynthia from You Signed Up For WHAT?!, Courtney from Eat Pray Run, DC and Mar from Mar on the Run for the Friday Five. I love this week’s topic — 5 Fitness Trends I’ll Never Try. I never say never, so I can’t say with 100% certainty I’ll never try them, but I’m fairly positive I won’t.

5 Fitness Trends I’ll Never Try…

1. Beachbody
I have lots of friends who love Beachbody, who swear by Beachbody, and are coaches for Beachbody. So I’m totally not gonna knock Beachbody. But for me personally, it’s unsustainable. I have a hard enough time doing any sort of fitness in front of a TV or in my basement, including the strength conditioning I so desperately need to stave off my injuries. Give me somewhere to run, though, and I’m hooked.
2. Smoothies for breakfast, lunch, or dinner
I like my food solid, thankyouverymuch.
3. CrossFit
In theory I’m totally down for some crazy challenges, but in practice I’m too cheap to join a CrossFit gym and I’m too terrified of trying to deadlift those suckers people are always posting to Instagram.

4. Triathlons
Not a swimmer. Just not. Would love to be. But it ain’t gonna happen anytime soon.
5. Novelty/adventure races — Tough Mudder, Color Run, etc.
Anything themed, requiring diving into E. coli or norovirus infested mud, or untimed — and I’m out. These races have high premiums for not much return. And sometimes they close up shop, leaving behind disappointed racers.

And just, ew. No thanks…
