Buying and selling real estate is the most insane undertaking. Ever.

So technically I had another post ready for today but I honestly didn’t finish it yet. Just gotta be real here for a sec, guys. This post is full of ranting. But I’m gonna give it to you straight. Buying and selling real estate is the most insane undertaking. Ever. Like, in the history of mankind. And especially if you have kids and pets. It’s ridiculously stressful. Turns out people aren’t as well versed in the intricacies of real estate as they’d like to be; the way in which realtor fees work and other related things just aren’t common knowledge.
Between showings of our home, looking at prospective homes ourselves, missing lunch times, dragging our anxiety-ridden 70 pound dog with us, being late for naps, getting rained on, keeping the house impeccably clean, and everything else in between, I’m just about done.

Yes, please!

My mom’s a realtor, so I say this with all the love in the world — but I am so done with realtors! (Mom, I love you.) How do they think no one else’s lives matter? Showing requested for 2:17 pm to 4:23 pm on a Wednesday when it’s pouring rain? Sure, I’ll wake up my daughter and pack everyone up, and toss the kids and dog in the car so we can drive around the block for two hours — only to arrive home to find all the lights still on and to realize the buyer never showed up! Can I just tell you that this has happened more times than I care to count?
But how about on the other end of things — when it’s our turn to go look at houses? An unkempt garden to make a bad first impression and how hard is it to visit a site like https://aceroofingtexas.com/ to get the broken tiles on your roof fixed? I mean I’m not asking for a lot here! For all the electricity-wasting, heat-producing lights we had to turn on, how come none of these people have their lights on for us? We walk into dark-a$$ houses, trying to fumble with light switches and maneuvering stairs in the dark. Yet their homes are listed far above current market value. Really? Can’t clean up those newspapers for a showing? Not even a little bit? If you wanted to sell your home consider having a chat with CT Cash Homes LLC. I hear we buy houses Connecticut for many people regardless of their home condition so having their insight will be valuable but I digress.
I tell ya — real estate’s a pai. Buying, selling, the whole shebang.

This would be so much easier. AmIright?

I’ve learned through this process that things are going to happen and I’m just going to have to deal with it. I throw my temper tantrums when there’s a showing or inspection request at an inopportune time and have a minor fit, but then I get over it and we make it work. I realize that when we look at homes, we are likely causing the same raucous over at someone else’s house. It’s the name of the game and that’s how it’s played.
But I know in the end everyone will be happy. A means to an end. Someone will buy our house and love it just as much as we have over the last seven years. And we will buy someone else’s house who loves their home, and we will bequeath our love onto it just as we have with this one.
Of course, there is more to the real estate industry than buying and selling your own home too. Navigating the complex real estate industry can often seem overwhelming though. Especially where making investments is concerned. This is why it is so important to do as much research as possible by reading useful real estate guides such as this overview of 20k investment in real estate options before making any final investment decisions.
Ultimately, buying and selling real estate is an adventure in the making — an exciting one, a scary one, a frustrating one, but eventually a very happy one. Cheers to new homes — mine and yours!
