Happy Hump Day!
How is it Wednesday already?! I love short work weeks. Even though I don’t work… But hey, it’s one less day I have to drive to/from preschool, and one more day I get to spend with my little people and husband!
I love Memorial Day weekend. I’m a little bummed it’s already over. But it’s always so fun when it’s here. We have some fantastic family traditions that usually begin with Memorial Day weekend. One of our traditions is attending the annual Blossom Time Festival in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. I’ve been going to Blossom Time Festival since I was a little kid. I can remember when they had pony rides and all sorts of games for kids. Plus the rides and the popcorn. And cotton candy! I continued to go throughout high school. When I was that age, I went at night with my friends. We got into all sorts of trouble — but thankfully never got caught. So. Much. Chaos.
This year we took our little people. During the morning hours. Definitely not at night. I know what goes on in that park at night! 😉 My kids had a blast. This was Button’s first year riding rides. At first we were worried she would be too scared. But then when we got in line at the ferris wheel she started squealing with delight and excitement! And then we were worried she wouldn’t be tall enough! Thankfully she was otherwise we might have been dealing with one unhappy toddler for the rest of the day. Button and Boo rode several rides. We consumed a lot of junk, and played a couple carnival games. It was a ton of fun.

On Sunday we went to a birthday party, and the kids had a blast. A bounce house, playground, sandbox, and yummy cake made Sunday a huge success.
On Monday we took part in another tradition — the annual Memorial Day parade in our town. It’s such a wonderful event. We’ve been attending every year since Boo was born, and it’s always an exceptional parade. I love seeing so members of our community out in droves both in the parade and on the grassy median as spectators.

All in all, the weekend really wore them out! I’m looking forward to many more fun events this summer. Swimming, tennis, free concerts, summer reading and socials. We will be quite busy, but it will be a lot of fun.
How was your Memorial Day weekend? Do you have any family traditions that you continue season after season?
