I may be crazy, or just extremely motivated, but 3 weeks after my first full marathon, I’m planning on running a challenging half marathon. The Lake Health Half Marathon is being held on Sunday, June 7th in Kirtland, Ohio. The course boasts 5 miles of trails and 8 miles of road. The trails are gentle, nothing overly technical so they’re ideal for all runners. The route winds through three Lake Metroparks, which are stunning all year round. If you’re in Northeast Ohio on June 7th, I highly recommend checking out this race.
More details! (These are directly from the Lake Health Running Series website):
The Lake Health Half Marathon is scenic, winding through the Lake Metroparks Farmpark, Chapin Forest, and Penitentiary Glen Reservation, all the while running the surrounding roads that will test the best in you. Both the 13.1 mile and 5K races will be chip timed, and both start and finish at Lake Metroparks Farmpark in Kirtland, Ohio.
There will be a pre-race packet pickup Saturday morning, June 6th, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. The location will be at Lake Health Tripoint Medical Center, 7590 Auburn Rd, Concord Twp., OH 44077.Race day registration and packet pickup will be available Sunday morning from 6:30 am – 7:45 am at Lake Metroparks Farmpark, 8800 Euclid Chardon Road (Rt 6) in Kirtland, OH 44094.
I have to say, I was a little leery of racing again so soon after the full, but then I came across this post on Facebook yesterday…
and I have to confess — this is one of the more rad finisher medals I’ve seen in quite some time. I’m pretty stoked to run this race!
I hope you’ll join me. In addition to individual registration, there is also a 3-person relay as well as a 5K. Registration for individuals is only $50! I’m really looking forward to it!
Hope to see you there… 🙂
