Product Review: The Active Life Compression Sleeves + Giveaway

Happy Hump Day! As you may (or may not) know, I’m a compression sleeve/sock junkie. But I’m not a “ooooh look at all the pretty colors” kind of junkie. More of a “damn these make my legs feel so happy” junkie. There’s a difference, ya know…

I had the opportunity to try out a pair of compression sleeves from The Active Life. The Active Life is a small, budding company out of North Carolina. The owner, Jim, is awesome. He’s such a nice guy. I asked him how/why he started The Active Life. He began running in 2014 and suffered from shin splints. After experiencing debilitating pain while attempting to play with his son, he decided he needed to do something about his issue and decided to start The Active Life.

As for the sleeves themselves, there are several things I want to point out. I should mention that I’ve only worn them for recovery, not for an actual run. Once the weather breaks (i.e. once all the ice is off the sidewalks) and I can run outside in shorts again, I’ll take them for a spin.

In the meantime, I like lists, so let’s break it down:

They’re simple. Nothing fancy, no crazy colors. Just straight up calf sleeves. This makes it appealing to both men and women. There’s no ridiculous amount of swirly, sparkly products to sift through to find something straight and to the point.

They’re comfortable. With the graduated compression and a silk-like fabric, they’re light and breathable. These are probably among the most comfortable calf sleeves I own.

The Active Life has a “how-to” video for putting on calf sleeves for newbie calf-sleeve wearers! Seriously. This alone is reason you should purchase from The Active Life. I’m not a newbie calf sleeve wearer, and I watched the video. Mind. Blown.

I had great customer service with The Active Life, the product is solid, and I’m very pleased with my overall experience.

Bottom line — would I recommend this product and company to a friend? Yes. YES! If you’re in the market for calf sleeves, you should definitely consider The Active Life.
