Siberian Express Won’t Get Me Down!

February 20, 2015
I’m really over winter. I don’t like being cold, the skin on my hands is crispy from lack of moisture, and I’m tired of being tired. Know what else I’m done with? Putting on ten million layers of clothes, plus boots, just to go to the grocery store or to drop Boo off at preschool. Speaking of preschool, Thursday and Friday? Forget it. This Siberian Express can just go away.
End rant.
In other news, I spent my Thursday at home with the kids, hanging out and doing a whole bunch of nothing. In the morning we had friends come over to play, but in the afternoon we just chilled. Boo helped me do some laundry, Little Bee napped. I even got in a bit of yoga while all was quiet in the house!

After Little Bee’s nap, the kids played while I labeled and packed shirts for one of my running groups. When I decided I needed a break from that fun, we made some popcorn for afternoon snack. Delish.

Addressing manila envelopes. Fun!

Making progress.

Shirts.

Hmmm… spoke too soon about making progress…
Today since we’re home from school with nowhere to go (because -25˚F sounds like fun, doesn’t it?), we’re going to do some activities. I’ll put up their tent, we’ll read books inside of it and maybe make a yummy snack together. Then we’ll play with Play-Doh, and hopefully not eat it, and perhaps even watch a movie!
I’m not gonna let this Siberian Express get me down. I’m done with winter but there’s still lots of indoor fun to be had. (Remind me I said this in a week…)
Tell me… Are you in the path of the Siberian Express? Has your city hit any record low temps or snowfalls this year?
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Stay warm, stay safe.
