Happy anniversary, babe!

January 5, 2015
Today is our 7th wedding anniversary. I can’t believe it. It seems like both just yesterday and an eternity ago that we were planning our wedding and then walking down the aisle.

Happy Anniversary!
We celebrated over the weekend by going to Fleming’s Steakhouse. Neither of us eat meat so it made perfect sense to go to a steakhouse. Right…?
We had perused the menu beforehand, and ordered non-steak items, and had a phenomenal dinner. I had the French onion soup — delish — and Alaskan King crab legs. After dinner our waiter saw a greeting card next to me and asked if it was my birthday. I replied, “no…?” and my husband informed him it was our anniversary.
He came back with two boxes of house-made truffles. They were awesome. He also said he was going to take me to the jewelry store to pick out something nice. It’s way too much for me but he insisted, so now I’m trying to figure out what would be the perfect piece of jewelry to represent our marriage so far.
Best truffles I’ve ever had.

After dinner we headed home, but decided en route that we weren’t quite ready to go back. Instead of going out to another establishment and ingesting more to fill our bellies past capacity, we decided to drive around and hang out. It was fun. We wasted time looking at beautiful mansions, almost getting lost, listening to music, and hanging out like old times. It was a great evening. Not quite as exciting as January 5, 2008, but a different kind of fun. We’re old now. We have two kids. A night out at a nice restaurant followed by a trip to nowhere while listening to music is good for the soul (and for the marriage!).

Happy anniversary, babe. I love you and can’t wait to waste many more years with you.
Cheers to us.
Happy Wedding Day!
