Fitness Review: Gigabody

December 10, 2014
This just happened.

Me: Oh lord, put the darn chocolate away!

Me: I can’t!

Me: Yes, you can!

Me: I can’t!

Me: Well, at least you have Gigabody…

(Follow me on Instagram and you’ll see what I’m talking about…)

That’s right. I have Gigabody.

This review is sponsored by Gigabody. All opinions and reviews are my own.

What is Gigabody? Gigabody is a website dedicated to workout DVDs all conveniently located in one spot. Gigabody offers a plethora of workout videos to choose from: yoga, barre, kickboxing, and cardio to name a few.
I was given the opportunity to give Gigabody a test run, and I will say I was very pleasantly surprised. My experience with workout videos is limited. I begrudgingly began doing some yoga videos off the internet out of necessity when I started training for my first half and realized I really needed to stretch and strengthen my non-running muscles. I found one instructor I liked, one video I liked, and basically have been doing that ever since. I am unable to compare the videos on Gigabody to others because of this conundrum. However, I will say this: I have liked every single video I’ve done thus far, and I can’t wait to keep going.
Gigabody has given me the freedom to try out so many things I never would have done before. I’ve always wanted to try barre and I had a moment to see what it was all about. Unfortunately I’m not so coordinated so I decided to stop the video halfway through. Barre fail! But I did discover that I love kickboxing! I had a blast doing those videos.
My favorite videos by far are the yoga ones. One instructor in particular is amazing. The videos I’ve been doing use weights and balance, and they have definitely been challenging me in ways that I didn’t realize were possible with yoga.
Aside from the actual videos themselves, the website is great. It’s clean, organized, and extremely easy to navigate. There is a place for instructor bios, you can choose what type of video you’re looking for, and there are even plans (with calendars) to help you achieve your goals.

Clean site, easy to navigate.

Workout plans and calendars!

Lots of different options of videos and workouts.

What I noticed in particular about the Gigabody website is that it is rarely, and I mean rarely, laggy at all. There are no ads (because it’s a paid service), and the videos are never glitchy. Instead of waiting around for the buffer to catch up, it’s smooth streaming the entire way.
The other great thing is the varying lengths of the videos as well as levels of the videos. Each one is rated with a level, and the duration is shown before you even press play. That means if you only have a few short 15 minutes to workout, there’s a video for you. Or if you like your workouts to be longer, try one of the 45-60 minute videos.
I have been very happy with Gigabody.
Bottom line — would I recommend Gigabody to my best friend or mom? Heck yeah. Truthfully, I would even recommend it to my husband or brothers. It seems most of the videos are targeted to women but most, if not all, of them feature men doing the workouts as well.
