Ho, ho, ho!
Sometimes I type the dumbest things ever. I’m sorry for that. I would delete it but it seems unauthentic if I do, so we’ll both just have to suffer together.
What I meant to say is, “Hi! How are you today?” There. That seems better. 🙂
We had a busy family weekend. We dragged the kids to Glow at the Cleveland Botanical Garden, and then to the Holiday Show at Tower City. I remember seeing the Holiday Show when I was a kid, and it turns out it’s the 25th Anniversary this year. I think the kids liked it. It’s just something cute they do every year with a Toy Soldier and Raggedy Ann and Andy. It’s cute. If you’re in the CLE around holiday time next year, definitely check it out.

Monday was the first official day of winter break, and I’m already completely exhausted. It’s so awesome not having to drive back and forth from school and rush around to get errands done, and Little Bee fed before pick-up. But it’s exhausting in a different way having both of the kids home at the same time. We did manage to play (a lot), make some crafts (mommy got frustrated and threw one but no one saw), and even make more holiday treats!
Holiday crafts! |
I even cleaned the entire house! How is that even possible? All in all we did have a pretty fun first day of winter break together. Tomorrow we will attempt the Natural History Museum, and hopefully burn off some energy there. In the afternoon we will bake some more holiday goodies. I can actually hear myself getting fatter.
Mmm… holiday treats… |
I finally got an awesome run in outside. I’ve been a slave to the treadmill while I’ve been recovering. I’ve been too nervous to run outside and get too far away and need to come back home because of not feeling well. But this morning was amazing. It was a brisk (feels like 18˚F) and star-filled morning. And because most kids are on winter break now, there was very little traffic. I managed to have one small panic attack when I was feet from the meeting spot with my friend. I was running along, enjoying the beautiful morning when all of a sudden on my left I heard what I swear to god was a dog growling. It sounded like one of those crazy scary dogs at the end of the first Ghostbusters. Remember those guard dog things?
Don’t mess with this guy… |
Yeah, that thing. It sounded like that. Anyway, I looked over and there was nothing there — just a bunch of garbage bags. But then I heard it again! I swear I’ve never jumped so far or so fast in my life. I thought maybe it was coming out of a sewer grate or something. Completely terrifying. Then I saw the guy dragging his garbage can to the curb…
I felt pretty stupid. And completely terrified. It was pitch black! Gah…
Other than that silliness, I had an awesome run with my friend. I was nice and toasty in my UA hoodie. My thighs were a bit chilly and my face was cold when I started off, but at the end I felt like a rockstar. Looking forward to many more runs like that in the future. Minus the weird scary dog event…
As the month (and year!) draws to a close, I’m looking forward to finishing my year strong, signing up for lots of races in 2015, and starting up a brand new mileage goal. Whoop whoop! More on that in another post. For now, enjoy your holiday cookies. 😉
Have a great day!
