How are y’all doing with our push-ups challenge? I’m totally nailing it. My push-ups aren’t graceful and I can’t go low yet, but I’m doing it! And I’m building me some mean muscles that’s for certain! I figure since I can barely squeeze my quads into any jeans I should probably work on my upper body and give my legs a break until summer when I don’t have to worry about jeans anymore. 🙂

If you need a reminder about our push-ups challenge, here you go:
I’ve been meaning to put together my 2015 “hopeful” Race Schedule but with our house being on the market and not really knowing where we’ll be come spring, I’ve been finding it a little difficult. Granted this exact scenario happened last spring as well and we didn’t end up selling our house, but I’m trusting next spring will be a different story. We got some expert property valuations so we know roughly how much our house is worth at the minute. I was pretty pleased with the evaluation actually. When we’re finally ready to move, these valuations will make the sale much easier… hopefully! We’re hoping that we’ve increased the value of our home, but we will find out soon. If the value hasn’t gone up, we might consider doing some more remodeling. My friend recently used this Acton Design Build company to remodel her kitchen and she’s extremely happy with the results. Maybe we’ll do something like that. We are looking to sell our house though, so we don’t want to do too much. Anyway, I even contacted a few real estate companies similar to Sell Now Iowa to see if they could help sell our home but this all came to a halt after a discussion with my husband. The whole house buying process has been very tiring but in the end, we decided that the timing wasn’t right. My family is all so busy at the minute, and although someone would’ve snapped up our house in a few weeks, we simply weren’t ready to move. It sucks but it’s just the way it is at the minute! With my son starting kindergarten in a year, we for sure need to, at the minimum, move school districts. I know the selling process can often have its stresses but sometimes you’ve just got to take the plunge and you’ll see it’s for the best. I can’t wait to move house when the time is right.
Should we end up staying in our current area next racing season, I’m still narrowing down some choices of races that I’d either like to run that I’ve already done, or new ones I’d like to try. There are so many races in such a short amount of time, it makes it difficult to pick and choose. That, and the registrations add up quickly.
I’m definitely looking for several same-race PRs. I’m quite competitive, it turns out, and I want to see how fast I can push myself. PRs, of course, for the shorter distance races. I’m not sure if I want to try to PR for a half or not. 13.1 miles is really far.
Speaking of really far, I’ve been considering the idea of a full marathon for the last several months now. Every time I think about it, my palms start sweating and I start having a mini panic attack. I’m ready, though. At least I am typing from the comfort of my own home. Out on the road on my own two feet is a different story. I’ll get back to you on that one…
I should mention that I’ve taken to running with the jogger. Can you believe it? I can’t. I’m literally beside myself that I run with the jogger. My daughter and I have been running together since she was in my belly so why should we stop now? I also like being able to set a solid example for my kids. I love that they love to be active. It’s so rewarding!
When my son was a baby I swore off stroller-running. And looking back on it, I wonder if it’s because we had such a junky stroller to begin with. The biggest issue is my height, to be honest. I’m kinda short and the stroller manufacturers make it extremely difficult to find a decent, affordable jogger with adjustable handlebars. Thankfully we made the purchase for Little Bee’s arrival and now I can comfortably run with her. It’s been quite fun! Now that the weather is turning I’ll be solo or indoors again, but at least I know I can do it.
Bonus: pushing the jogger is really hard. I get a full body workout every time we run together. Warning: I do not look anything like the happy runners with the strollers you can find my searching “jogging stroller.” I probably look angry more than anything but it’s simply due to the fact that I’m pushing 40+ lbs up a hill. Hence the picture below. I felt pretty badass. Don’t judge. ;)~
Post 4-miler with Little Bee. Don’t judge the peace fingers. I’m not sure why it happened but it did. |
All right, friends. That’s all from here for now. Talk to you soon.
