Happy Birthday, Turkey!

October 7, 2014
I’m going to take a brief departure from my usual running and food because today is my little Boo’s birthday!
Halloween when Boo was just a year old! Today he turns 5!!!
Today is his 5th birthday. WHAT?! I can’t even believe it. He’s 5 years old. What the… Where did the time go?
I remember when this happened…
And now there’s this…
I don’t know how there are two of them all of a sudden. I’ll have to ask my husband what that’s all about. I guess they’re kinda cute. Maybe I’ll keep them.
But I still can’t believe how big Boo is now. After this illness, it’s safe to say how much I cherish his out-of-control chaos that he brings with him everywhere. He has been so quiet and sad, and very unlike himself, and it has made me appreciate his bonkers personality. Last night was a complete disaster as he has developed the sores in the back of his throat. He couldn’t sleep, can’t eat anything, and he wants to postpone his birthday until he feels better. I can’t say I blame him. This sh*t sucks.

(For a previous rant on the joys of Hand, Foot, and Mouth, check out my post from 2011 here.)

I miss my little Tasmanian devil. I can’t wait until he’s 100% better so he can run around, scream, and destroy my house once again.

To my little Turkey who doesn’t even know how to read yet: Have the happiest of birthdays. I love you to the moon and back. I wish you were feeling great today, but since you’re not, we will spend it watching movies, drinking tea, and eating popsicles. You’re my best, and I’m so glad you’re in my life. Love, Mama.
As for the rest of you — have a great day!
Happy day!
