Guys. I went to the Cleveland National Airshow yesterday and had an epiphany. Not really an epiphany exactly. More like a “I don’t want to give up” moment. We were walking along the tarmac and came to one of the many U.S. Army tents. At this particular tent there were three mats set out along with music blaring and a big crowd. Folks, people were planking. And it was drawing a lot of attention. I told my husband I wanted to take the challenge. When we got over there it appeared there was a somewhat long line so I ended up not competing. BUT, it made me realize that I let myself down when I didn’t follow through with my August Plank Challenge. Guess what? I’m doing it again. And this time I’m not going to quit, even if it is completely ridiculous to plank for five minutes. I really just want to know if I can do it.
Ready? Let’s do it.
As you’ll see, I changed up the rest days. One of two things happens on the weekends. Either you’re a runner and your long run is on a Sunday, or you’re not a runner and you like to just chillax with family on the weekend. Therefore, rest day is now on Sunday. It makes it more conducive to most lifestyles.
And, as promised, here are some photos of the airshow! It wasn’t quite as exciting as it was two years ago. My husband pointed out that the Airforce was missing. We aren’t sure if it was due to budget cuts or war (or both) but their absence was definitely noticed. There weren’t any fighter jets in the center tarmac nor were there any fighter jets flying. There were two Canadian fighter jets to look at, which was pretty cool, but no cargo planes to walk into and no F/A-18E/F Super Hornet to break the sound barrier.

It was hot, and humid, but Boo had a blast, as did hubs and I. I’m pretty sure Little Bee had a million other places she would rather be but once we got to some shade and she could walk around in the grass, she was much happier.

First day of school pic… with his Blue Angel, of course! |
Ah yes, the first day of school! Hallelujah! It’s bittersweet, really. I love having Boo around and summer is by far my favorite season. But, he is taxing at times. And that’s putting it nicely. Boo is an energetic ball of boy. I’m glad school started today — and so is he! He had a great day with his friends and new teachers.
Have a great day! And don’t forget — planking starts TODAY!
For those of you with kids: Back-to-school — yay because kids go back to school? Or nay because it’s the end of summer?
