A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

September 3, 2014
Admittedly, today has gotten away from me. I’ve been so busy for some reason, and I do apologize for the lack of a product review today. There’s just frankly too much going on.
As you know, Boo started school yesterday, which means we have been running around like crazy trying to get back on a schedule. Little Bee refused to nap this morning, so we ended up at Nordstrom Rack. Boo is in dire need of fall/winter apparel. We got him the most ridiculous track suit. It’s awesomesauce.
My bestie from Cali left the east coast today, which for some reason makes me so darn sad. She hasn’t even been in the CLE for the last week or so but just knowing she is that much closer was somehow comforting. Wah! I am happy to report, however, she will be returning for her birthday in just a couple weeks. Whoop! Get ready, woman. It’s on!
What else… hmm… not much. Let’s talk planking. How’s it going? I am still on track for the September Plank Challenge! Here’s the calendar if you missed yesterday’s post. It’s going to get tough, but if we stay the course, we will be rock solid and strong!
This morning was supposed to be track day for me and my good friendly. School starts at 7:30 so the plan was to be at the track no later than 6:15, and out of there by 7. Alas, we woke up at 6 and it was dark. After some early morning texting, we decided to call it off and run on the roads. I’m not sure what she ended up doing, but I ended up running a 3-miler with some hard effort pushes every quarter of a mile or so, with a slow effort 1/8 – 1/4 mile between. It was difficult to keep track and do quick math in my head (which made the time go quickly), and the effort of my fast 400s was much more difficult than on the track. Overall, I think I put in a solid workout. I felt like I exerted myself and my time was the same-ish as it has been on track days.
I do hope to return to the track during this training cycle. It’s one of my favorite workouts. I get to feel fast! And I get to push myself hard and know there’s an end in sight. Plus the track is bouncy and easy on my joints. Score!
All right, folks. This post has been a mumbo jumbo today. I hope your day is slightly more organized than mine. Have a good one!
