Good afternoon! A huge thank you to everyone who entered my giveaway. The winner has been chosen and contacted. Congratulations, Harsha!
Happy Hump Day! It’s product review day. Whoop! Today I would love to introduce you to the Nathan 5K Belt (http://www.nathansports.com/gear/training-paks-belts/5k-belt). I purchased this item kind of on a whim, and for a while I never used it. But now it seems like I literally use it on every run.
Disclosure: I have not been compensated by Nathan or provided this belt. I purchased it on my accord. All opinions and reviews are my own.
Admittedly, the first time I donned this glorious running accessory, I felt like a middle aged man sporting a fanny pack at Disney World. HOWEVER! It isn’t as dorky as I originally anticipated and I’ve grown to love it. Let’s get down to the nitty gritty.
The pros:
It’s neoprene. This means that when I sweat buckets, it gets absorbed and wicked. Neoprene is also helpful when it’s rainy or overly humid because what I’ve stashed doesn’t end up wet
It’s brightly colored and has reflective accents. As you know, I’m all about runner safety. So the dayglo orange and reflectors are a big plus for me.
Adjustable waistband. The waistband is adjustable which is awesome because some days I need it tighter than others.
Pocket size. One pocket is larger and fits my phone, key, and whatever else I need to carry (mace? emergency TP, anyone?). The other pocket is smaller and mesh. This is perfect for my ID, credit card, and extra hair ties.
The cons:
It bounces around sometimes. Bouncing is no good. But it doesn’t bounce all the time so I wouldn’t consider this a major con.
The straps are too long. The adjustable waistband is awesome but for a petite person the straps are excessively long.
Overall, I really like this belt. It isn’t the most fashionable or trendy of belts available but that’s not how Nathan designed it. If you’re looking for something fashion forward, this probaby isn’t the belt for you. But if function and comfort is what you’re going for, this one is perfect.
Bottom line — would I recommend the Nathan 5K Belt to a friend? Totes. Will I buy one again? For sure!
Thanks for checking out my review. I hope you find it helpful in your quest for a new running belt.
