Did you know a moose is the largest member of the deer family?

August 29, 2014
Did you know a moose is the largest member of the deer family? It can weigh up to 1,800 pounds and stand at 7 feet tall. A moose can also run as fast as 35 mph. I bring this up because I saw two baby deer on my run this morning. And honestly? I’ve been waiting to spew this random knowledge to someone but have honestly had no reason to randomly bring it up in every day conversation. So there ya go… You learn something new every day. You’re welcome. 🙂
Today is ordinarily challah-making day. I opened the baking cabinet and I’m out of yeast. Store bought it shall be! As I’ve mentioned many times before, making a challah is very intense. Sometimes I would rather not make one. But this morning I was really looking forward to it so this is kind of a bummer. There is nothing better than a warm, homemade challah.
I’m secretly a little thankful for the reprieve, though. The last two days have been bananas. We have had very little traffic on our house all summer and then suddenly we have had three showings in two days. Showings are stressful enough but we also had a concert on Wednesday, and Boo’s back to school picnic last night. Cleaning the house, packing dinners, shuttling the dog to/from various houses, and coming home late for two nights in a row has definitely taken a toll on all of us.
Boo’s picnic was fun. He got to check out his PRE-K classroom. Yes, pre-k. That’s just not right. In a little over a month, my baby love will be 5 years old! What the…? I’m not old enough to have a 5 year old. My brothers are, but I’m not. I still feel like I’m in high school. Geesh.
He’s such a bright kid. Boo has always had trouble reeling in his energy, but he’s so awesome. He loves learning, he adores his sister, and he’s a really fun kid. Just so hard to keep up with! Here he is watching Wild Kratts:

I should explain his outfit. He’s wearing a pilot shirt, pilot pants, gray socks to match. And he plans on performing in the airshow this weekend.
We are so excited for the Cleveland National Airshow. It was canceled last year on account of the sequester so we have all been looking forward to it for two years now! Have to secure some baby earplugs today or tomorrow.
Happy Labor Day weekend! Any fun plans? Picnics? Airshows? Long runs? Races?
