Today’s product review is super fun. Mostly because the company itself is super fun. The products they sell are great but the basis of the company is what makes the items purely for Lunatiks. Enter Lunatik Athletiks.

Lunatik Athletiks Compression Socks Review
You know I’m a compression sock junkie, right? There are a lot of different aspects that can make or break a compression sock. My criteria:
- Fit — is it snug in all the right places? Does it give me relief when my calves need a hug? What about the length and foot-fit?
- Style — do they look good? Based on answers to “fit,” do I care if they look good? The answers to both of these question is almost always “no.” 🙂
- Practicality — Are they practical? i.e. not white.
- Durability — Are they durable? Will they make it with multiple wears, runs, and recoveries?
- Price — will this purchase break the bank, and will I regret it later?
When researching compression socks, I rely almost entirely on my answers to questions 1 and 5. Those are truly the most important. And really only number 1 is the deciding factor. I threw in #5 for good measure in case my husband reads my blog. 😉
When I received the opportunity to try out Lunatik Athletiks compression socks, I was elated. When I first discovered compression socks, I merely stumbled upon them. In actuality, I saw a race day photo of a friend of mine wearing these awesomesauce knee-high socks. They were rainbow I believe, and I needed them for my next race.
I turned to the internet and came across “compression socks.” It was in this search that I found Lunatik Athletiks. They stood out of me for a few reasons. Firstly, their socks are awesome. Such insane colors and patterns. And so fun! Second, the price was right. At $44 a pop, these are a hidden gem. Thirdly, I fell in love with the “About Us” section from their website.
“Lunatik Athletiks is an athletic apparel company created with the extreme athlete in mind. The dictionary definition itself identifies a “lunatik” as being “wildly or giddily foolish, insane, and is characterized by eccentricity”, all of which have also been used to describe particular athletes. Endurance and extreme athletes are often referred to as being crazy, insane or a “lunatik” for enduring the dedication, focus, training, sacrifice, and pain associated with their particular athletic endeavours . Lunatik Athletiks hopes to support these athletes reach their athletik goals and lifelong dreams by providing the highest quality athletic apparel.”
The Lunatik website actually taught me about compression socks when at first I knew nothing. I was intrigued. Several months after my initial encounter, I reached out to Lunatik to see if I could try a pair of these socks. And let me tell you, I’ve never been happier. From the start, I was sent the super cute Hot Rockin Dots socks with a handwritten note. And it has been such a pleasure working with Lunatik. Wonderful company, for sure.
I fully plan on wearing these bad boys for an upcoming race. Unfortunately I haven’t raced in quite some time so I haven’t been able to sport them in public yet. However, I did get the chance to wear them for recovery. Remember all of my criteria above?
They fit great. They’re a touch long for me, but they hug in all the right places and make my legs feel happy and supported.
Style? Fuggetaboutit. They’re glorious!
Are they practical?! Um… yes. Duh. Who doesn’t need ridiculously awesome compression socks for races? That’s what I want to know.
Are they durable? So far, so good! They’ve withstood all day wear around my house, out in the yard to play, as a fashion-statement on the 4th of July (even though the company is in Canada… potato, potahto)…
Price. Would I buy these? Well, yes. The price is right, and the fit is great. What’s not to love?
Bottom line —
do I love these fun and comfortable compression socks?
I do!
Would I buy them for myself or recommend them to someone else?
For sure.
