Happiness in a bag? Some may say… YES. |
In 1885, Claire Cretors’ great grandfather invented a machine that forever changed snacking: The commercial popcorn machine. 126 years later, his great granddaughter is writing the next chapter for the Cretors family. This time, with the popcorn itself.
Made with all-natural ingredients completely free of GMO’s, artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives, G.H. Cretors’ signature Chicago Mix combines caramel corn and cheese corn in the same bag, offering addictive, simultaneous hits of sweet, salty, crunchy and cheesy. The caramel corn is made the old fashioned way: by hand, in copper kettles. Cane sugar, brown rice syrup (a non-GMO alternative to corn syrup with a lower glycemic impact) and real butter is heated over a flame and then stirred slowly by hand to develop its rich complex flavor and crunch.
G.H. Cretors is women-owned and operated by the mother-daughter team of Claire and Phyllis Cretors in Waukegan, Illinois. This is not far from Chicago where another branch of the Cretors family still makes commercial popping machines invented by Claire’s great grandfather in 1885.
Morsels of caramel and cheese corn. Mixed together. Perfection. |
So here’s what I love: I love that this is a women-owned operation. I love that this popcorn is insanely delicious. I love that it’s not a bunch of chemicals in a bag. G.H. Cretors products are gluten-free, non-GMO, and kosher. And they have an organic line, too!
What do I not love? I don’t love the calorie count per bag (210) because it’s so addicting that I can’t just eat a couple pieces at a time. But that’s my problem, not yours. Self-control and food should not be in the same sentence when referring to me. 😉
Thank you to G.H. Cretors for sponsoring this review. I’m so happy I was chosen to take part. And my mouth and tummy are happy, too. 🙂
I highly recommend getting a bag of this next time you’re in the grocery. It’s so, so good. Happy Hump Day and happy snacking!

QOTD: Caramel or cheese? Go!
