Races, Packing, Wood Chips

June 5, 2014
I had such a great run this morning! I ran with my friend, Eugenia. She’s awesome. We have some great runs together! I know, I know. I’ll shut up about my running. But I swear, it makes me a happier person. You should try it sometime!

Post-run selfie, showing off my new Bondi Band. More on that next week!

I’ve had so much anxiety lately. Not in a bad, dark way, but more of a “I have way too much stuff to do and I can’t handle it” kind of way. We have been so busy for the last several months. First I was training for a 10-miler, then I was training for the half, and now we are packing up and listing our house. It’s like one thing after another. So stressful. Our realtor is coming on Sunday and we have so much left to do. I have no interest in having our house on the market for more than a month because I have two kids and a dog, so keeping up with the cleaning plus vacating the house every time someone wants to see it is going to be quite the undertaking. Here’s to hoping this moves smoothly and efficiently!

There’s a half marathon in October that I’ve been eyeing. I really want to do it. I’m afraid I won’t have time to commit to training and traveling, though, which would put a huge damper on completing another 13.1. I don’t know what to do. Sigh…
I took the kiddos to the playground yesterday. It was super fun! Little Bee discovered sand and wood chips. And of course she had to taste the chips to make sure they weren’t potato chips.

Mmm… tastes like ‘more!’

This morning my kids were playing with that Fisher Price old-school rotary phone. You know the one I’m talking about…

I had to explain to Boo that you had to “dial” a phone. Like, really dial it. Not just punch some numbers on a flat piece of glass. He didn’t even know what the word dial meant. Oy vey. When the conversation was finished, his mind was completely blown. Man, I feel old!!! Don’t even get me started on party lines. Which thankfully I don’t personally have any experience with. I’ll save the conversation for when Papa (my dad) comes to visit.
Ugh, I’m procrastinating. I guess I should go pack. Wish me luck! Smh.
Have a great day, loves!

Did you used to own this Fisher Price phone as a kid? Wasn’t it awesome?!
Fess up, what strange things do your kids taste? My kids taste crayons, wood chips… pretty much everything…
