Babywearing!

September 7, 2013

Booyah!!!

I have been the proud owner of a custom-made ring sling from Sleeping Baby Productions for approximately four months. I have had every intention of wearing my now two month old baby girl essentially from birth.
Unfortunately the ring sling has a steep learning curve. One that I was unprepared to deal with. I am proud to say, however, that the learning curve isn’t as steep anymore and I have finally conquered the confusion of the ring sling!
I tried to sell my sling, time and again, because it is such a frustrating piece of fabric. For a first time user, it essentially makes no sense. What should be a super easy thing to do, and what veteran baby wearers make look so easy, is indescribably hard and frustrating.
Baby girl and I happily walked down the block with my almost four year old son using the sling. This was our inaugural walk and I am certain things will continue to improve and I will become more comfortable the more I wear her. But I am proud of this very small achievement. I’m glad I stuck it out and no one wanted to buy my sling.
Babywearing? Conquered!
