I’m back!

March 20, 2012
It’s been a while since my last post. To my loyal readers, I apologize. I have been very, very busy. I have been intimately involved in a rather large design project. I’m glad the bulk of it is complete, and I’m very hopeful that it will be an ongoing project for hopefully a very, very long time.
Anyways, I digress. I have great news! Remember my neighbor who I had such a hard time communicating with a couple months ago? Well, we’ve had unseasonably warm spring weather and have been spending a lot of time outdoors. Likewise, so has she and her kids. This morning it was just us outside. Her and her kids, and me and my kid. It would have been incredibly awkward had we continued to try ignoring each other, so we both pulled up our big girl panties and made an effort. And guess what? Turns out we had a very pleasant conversation. And my boy is very interested in playing with her kids. I’m confident this summer will be much more amicable than last. Finally…
So that’s awesomeness number one. Awesomeness number two is that it’s spring running season. I was planning on running the Cleveland Half Marathon but logistically speaking, it will be impossible to do this year. I don’t feel like driving myself downtown, running the half, and having no one to greet me at the finish line or cheer me on throughout the race. And my husband and I can’t justify waking up our two and a half year old at 5:00 in the morning just so I can run. So as bummed out as I am, I’m skipping it this year. There will be others in the future. I do plan on training for many 5k and 10k races, though. It won’t be a total loss of a season!
We’ve continued with our healthy eating. I’m really becoming concerned about a lot of environmental and health issues. I won’t delve into it here and now, but pink slime and GMOs really freak me out. The more I learn about these things, the more I second guess every single food item that I buy and put into my belly and the bellies of my family.
How have you guys been? Anything new?
