Happy Anniversary, babe!
Today my husband and I celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary. You know, the linen/silk/flowers one? Well let me tell you a little story about my anniversary so far…
This morning started chaotically, per usual. Hubs had to be at work early, so I had to rush out of the shower and immediately started sweating because of my hurry. So much for being clean. Then my little boy ate me out of house and home for breakfast. Waffles, sausage, oatmeal, milk. Who knew this kid could eat so much? Well I did, but that’s beside the point.
After breakfast, we hurriedly went to Target to do some home necessity replenishment. Target was fun, as always, (insert annoyed eye roll here), and then we headed to Pier 1 Imports for an owl. Not just any owl. An owl I’ve been eyeing for about two weeks. I saw it there over the holidays one day when we impulsively decided we needed new lamps. I never forgot the owl.
I am now the proud owner of my very own owl. She is waiting patiently to be hung in our room.
I almost became a smoker again today, too. I know, right? So close. I was at the gas station filling up, and thought to myself, “what if I just bought a pack and we (hubs and I) could smoke one every now and again. Socially in a way…” And then I thought better of myself and decided if I were to buy a pack of cigarettes to smoke “every once in a while,” who is to say that the every once in a while wouldn’t turn into every day, and every day wouldn’t turn into twice a day, and twice a day wouldn’t turn into a pack a day?!
Whew. That was close.
Two errands and one gas station pep talk down, one more crucial errand to go. The big one, kids. The anniversary gift.
Alas, I can’t tell you anything about the anniversary gift because my husband receives my blog directly to his email. I did ask my husband’s favorite color, though, amidst the sea of stores. He replied “Grey. But that’s not a color.” And yes, honey, I know you like grey. So I made him choose between red, green and blue.
Done and done.
In other news, I purchased the first two books of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy. I’m very excited to start reading them. After Hunger Games I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to read a non-series book again. I guess I did read The Distant Hours, though. I couldn’t put that one down. And after I finished it, I was so moved that I nearly cried, and then wanted to read it again!
Anyways, none of this is important. Happy Anniversary to my best friend, my true love and my partner in crime. I love you, babe.
