I don’t know what to say. I’ve been gone for a long time — and I’m okay with that. Every morning when I’m in the shower I think of something to blog about, but I feel like I’ve needed this break. I also didn’t have much time because Boo has been keeping me quite busy for the last several months…
I digress.
A lot has been going on in this life. Baby Love is just over a year old now. He walks, talks (babbles, really) and can do lots of things that infants and babies can’t. It’s been quite miraculous to watch him grow and develop into the cutest little boy in the entire world. Baby Daddy and me are getting along better (sometimes) now that communication with him has reached a higher level. Not quite as much of a guessing game as it used to be. Which, I might add, is an extremely welcome change. Much less stressful in our household these days.
Boo’s grandparents came to visit this fall, which was wonderful. Makes you realize how important these people are in your life. He loved, loved, loved them and it was so neat to see him interacting and playing with them. He was so comfortable. Like they had been there with him all along.
We went to lunch today with a friend and her daughter from playgroup. It turns out that I have a potty mouth. I was scolded by a playgroup buddy. Quite embarrassing. Guess I have to add “damnit” to my list of swear words that I should not, but continue to, use in front of Snarfs. Oy.
I’ve been working out and dieting like crazy. And I’ve been progressing quite well, if I do say so myself! I started my workout/diet regimen August 19th and have since lost 14 lbs, with just 5 more to go! Every morning I go for a run on my treadmill and in the afternoons I work on sculpting and toning. I am proud to say that I am in the best shape I have been in my life thus far. Counting calories has been a little difficult but thankfully MyPlate on www.livestrong.com has been a wonderful tool and has allowed me to keep track of everything. My body is my temple and I intend to continue to treat it as such.
What is my inspiration? Ah, I’m so glad you asked. Some of you may recall a reality TV show called “Everest: Beyond the Limit” that aired in 2006 and 2007 on Discovery. Since my husband and I started watching reruns, I haven’t been able to get it out of my head that I, too, will someday summit the highest point on our planet. Of course this is all wishful thinking and I probably will never even have the opportunity, but a girl can dream, can’t she? More on this in a later post.
So that’s about it, I guess. See? You didn’t miss much. Well, I guess a lot more has happened since Memorial Day, but I’d rather ease back into this strange cyber-diary thing we call blogging.
Until next time…
Never.
